I have started following your channel and fell like I am getting to know you. What a delight for me to watch a younger family setting up their home. I envy you as you remind me of my husband and myself when we purchased a piece of land in West Virginia USA. We were living and working in the Washington DC area and hated the congestion and stress so the idea of a get away place would give us a weekend retreat. We started off camping in a tent, then sleeping in the back of our little pickup truck with an enclosed back. Next step was to put a road further into out land. Then we did the plans for a small cabin, found a man to build it, and we moved in. It was primitive with no electricity, water, or plumbing. Our only modern features were a propane stove with a cook top and a wood stove. It was wonderful and we loved it there. It kind of reminds me of your lovely indoor/outdoor home. I feel a bit envious. Love watching your DIY projects...we too have always done projects together including building a storage building, finishing off the lower ground level of our house, building furniture, etc. It is wonderful working together...so rewarding. Now we are in our 70s and still keep doing projects. You remind me so much of when we were young...it makes me happy to watch your videos. Thank you. Best regards, Susan from North Carolina, USA

Really inspirational. Nice to see you and the kids thriving in this community, it looks like you have found your place. A community is all about give, share, take and accept, I can imagine that not all is rainbows and sunshine in that sense. Are there any clear do's, don'ts and 'regulations' defined? Thank you so much🙏 By making these videos, comments like yours give us the strength to go on with it and they show us that we are on the right path❤️ Your question though cannot be answered in short. Maybe we should make a video on that. 😃 Because, sure there are agreements on the do’s and don’ts. What we liked most in Malama, while making the decision to stay, was that the long term people just have a great intuition. The feeling of being in the need of regulations here in the community just come up when more and more people from outside are visiting. As it takes time for them to get used to the community rhythm.
