I plug in my hair tools to get them warm then unplug them. I soak a cotton ball with alcohol and scrub it. This works pretty well as long as the tool stays warm.

Thank you so much Cam! I lost my dad in mid-August. It was a load of decisions on his funeral and possessions. I lacked so much on my own families home the last month, month & a half. Yesterday I checked out a book on grievance and just started reading away. Later on I started digging into my Bible reading to help heal me emotionally. My sleep schedule has been totally off as well. So tonight instead of just being in bed and binge watching shows I decided to get on your video tonight, get myself up and start cleaning or tidying up a bit, sweeping and mopping my whole house. I’m a SAHM and I also homeschool our 3 kids. So we do our assignments and the kids have been so helpful with doing their part on cleaning their messes up so it doesn’t get way out of control. Anyways, thank you so much for your videos and Bobby’s videos as well. Last night I watched his video on the yard and aftermath of the hurricane. Something just sparked inside of me to just get outside earlier today (or yesterday 😅) and attack the weeds in our backyard with the weedeater and lawn mower. 💪🏽 felt so good to just get back into taking care of my home. My home smells so good and fresh, my white tiled floors are all swept and mopped. Everyone is gonna wake up to a clean fresh house in the morning. I’m looking forward to their reaction. They’ll know that mommy is getting thru her depression mourning and grieving phase. Thank you so much Cambria and Bobby for putting videos out for us all just to encourage us and remind us little steps at a time with our home, mind and body. 🥹🥲❤️‍🩹🙏🏽

Firstly, sincere condolences on the loss of your father. Wow! Sounds to me like you are doing remarkably. I lost my father 4 years ago, and it took me minimum 2 years to start really living and healing properly again. So well done you! Give yourself time and be patient with yourself too. Some days will be better than others, but have faith you will get there. All the very best.

But yes lately I’ve been needing the motivation to just get up and clean. It helps with the foggy mind. Everyone mourns differently and it’s ok. I appreciate the comment so much! the fans get dirtier because they are running. They pull air up to circulate it back down. I noticed when I do not run certain ceiling fans they are way cleaner, very little dust.

Hi Cambria For your straightener getting gunky. After I use my curling iron, after unplugging it, I will take a damp sponge and wipe it. It is hard sometimes wiping between the top that lifts off the barrel and barrel. I wet the sponge again to cool it off and ring it out, until I get the residue off, sometimes it’s could be three or more times. I don’t use any cleaners on it. I hope this helps!

Try rubbing alcohol. No need to rinse it will evaporate. Use Goo Gone if it's bad nd just make sure all the residue is gotten off.

Hi Cambriea, Your family is so beautiful and I look forward to your videos every week. I appreciate the fact that you talk about mental health and how we can deal with it and also getting our homes clean. I have dealt with Bi-polar 2 for about 4 years now and it seems to come and go. No medications seem to work so I am not taking anything. I do think that I feel better not taking anything. I try and keep my housework done everyday. It is just my husband, adult son and myself at home, I am also disabled. Also, I only wash my hair 2-3 times a week and I only straighten it once a week. I personally use goo gone to clean my straightener. I know that might sound silly, but I do use an all purpose cleaner first just to get the initial grim off, then I use the goo gone. I have used it for about 2 years, and I think that it works great. Good luck.

Hair starightner: Goo Gone. Then use multi-purpose spray to clean residue off. Make sure NO residue remains so your hair doesn't burn.

I was finally honest with myself a few days ago, and I have admitted that I'm suffering from severe depression. I know some of what is contributing to that, but I'm struggling with getting above water. My mental health is being reflected in the state of my house...which is bad, not as bad as hoarder, but it could get there. I have tried to just concentrate on what I can do, but I'm just overwhelmed. I do have an adult child living at home, but due to chronic joint pain, allergies, and their own mental health issues they aren't able to help much. I just feel embarrassed, overwhelmed, lost, less than, and horrible.

I watch your videos all the time but rarely comment. You are amazing and such a rockstar for getting all this done with a newborn baby! I’m a cosmetologist and in beauty school, we were told to clean our hot tools with rubbing alcohol, and it gets all the gunk off! Just make sure that you let it completely dry and evaporate before turning on the hot tool again! Or you could run a wet paper towel over it after you use the alcohol and it should be like new!

Friday’s are my dedicated cleaning days. I don’t really get much of anything done during the rest of the week but with work and being a single mom of two and having to do mom things, make dinner, watch my 4 year old while she plays outside, etc, I just don’t have it in me. Buy with today being my cleaning day, I still didn’t get much done. Dishes, lots of laundry (including bedding), and cleaned the toilet. I always bum myself out about it but watching your videos and how you always tell us, progress over protection, always helps and makes me feel better.

I am OG, been watching you for YEARS and it is a joy seeing you and your family, and the various things you and Bobby work on with your home, lawn, pets, all of it. And your kids are growing up so fast! You are such a motivation to watch. I am recovering from a hospitalization from a neuromuscular disease I have called Myasthenia Gravis. I am feeling much better now but was putting off starting to wipe down my kitchen cabinets. I try to get them really clean like, twice a year. But it’s been a year and I can see the dust, and they aren’t as pretty in color as they usually are, because of it. But now, I think I might try wiping them down with my mop. Just a little at a time. I really think that will work, and I will be so happy to see them brightening up. I use light housework as my part of my light activity recovery for my muscles and range of motion. Wish me luck! ❤

Rubbing alcohol removes gunk off hair tools pretty well. So, you could try your homemade spray for dishes with alcohol. I've also used nail polish remover, but it has fumes.

Little freyas feet dangling cracked me up, wonder whos mess that was under the chairs😂. Your hair grew so much!!! I feel like you just chopped a good amount not long ago. I absolutely agree the mental health really does affect you just as much, when i lost my dad i was induced at 37 weeks because of my blood pressure. I was having multiple panic attacks a day i couldnt control. Very much do not reccomend watching your dad die while pregnant. My son was in the nicu and my mental health was non existant. All i did was sit with him in that room and you could not get me out for anything. I would actually RUN to the bathroom and back because i couldnt be away from him. He was in the nicu because of a small hole in his left lung from fluid build up while being born. My dad passed due to lung related issues and it scared me so badly. Even when i was discharged they gave me a different room on thar floor to stay because they were worried about me, not that i was ever in that room but it was nice to have. My husband was obviously there everyday too but we have two other kids so he wasnt there the entire day like me but i would wait to shower or eat until he was there to hold him. I watched ALOT of your videos and you dont even know how much you helped me and distracted my brain. My son is 16 months old now and perfectly healthy and i have been working on healing from losing my dad. Some days are really good and some are really tough but its better than it was by far. I hope they get that hole fixed before christmas, when it comes to city or county work they take their time🙄

reguarding depression, this may help someone today.....can't get out of bed? just sit on your bed with legs touching floor for 5 minutes every hour. Don't feel up to getting a shower? Just wash your face and brush your teeth. Not feeling strong enough to go outside? Open a window and let the ouside in. Be kind to yourself. Any "little" thing you can do is a win!! Depression and anxiety can take a long time to overcome. Ask for help from others. Stay in touch with people who support you. Remember, this is temporary, this too shall pass. Depression/anxiety are not a character weakness, they are physiologically real.

THANK YOU CAMBRIEA!! Today I cleaned the ceiling fan in my kitchen as you cleaned the one in ur bedroom! I have not cleaned it in over 2 years since I quite smoking - so you can just imagine - the ick on that!! But ~~ I used a degreaser AND your pillowcase hack & aside from feeling like I got some nasty sticky dust in my eyes lol! Gotta remember to protect my eyes next time! It feels much better to have that done! I have a lot more to do...but it's a start...as you say - Progress not perfection!! I have always loved that saying! Good morning sweet friend, Great video Love that wet dry vacuum seriously, considering purchasing. I trust your recommendations. Anything to help make cleaning easier,& efficient…..sign me up. We all need a little help. I’m 73 yrs. Young and I have had 8 shoulder surgeries. Cleaning floors using my shoulders can cause me a lot of discomfort and pain. Doing double duty for me is awesome. I remember my hair growing super fast too during pregnancy. My kids were both late. My daughter was 10 days late, and my son 13 days late and was breech. Just a thought, but maybe shampoo would work to clean hair styling tools. It cuts through products in your hair and maybe will work on tools too.
