I live in Tokyo. I recommend Shibuya, Harajuku, and Ginza. I have been to Hakone, definitely worth going for 2-3 days. I have been to Kyoto 6 times. I recommend renting a kimono for about 35-50 USD and walking around with a friend.

The Hakone Caldera is magical: my partner and I visited it with a Hakone Pass three years ago, when the weather was glorious. We especially loved the (unexpected) art galleries and sculpture park. We even managed to get a glorious view of Fuji San. It's just a place to walk around.......whilst trying to forget it's inside a restless giant volcanic caldera. Staying in the Hyatt Regency Hotel helped to make our stay that bit more special.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on all the requests for longer videos, we did a video which was 24 minutes covering a three day trip across Kyushu (kzbin.info/www/bejne/aX-Wia2apbGXo6M). If time and resources allow we would love to do more longer videos like this. Every video is a balancing act of final video length versus production time. Hakone is one of my favourite, we stayed full 2 days there, however when my husband and I visited there last year July the weather was not great, but still we enjoyed the ship and roaming around was amazing. Accommodations are expensive in Hakone specially in summer time where only few hotels open. Trains transport in Japan can be confusing, it's an art that you have to study well and it took us 3 days to understand and get used to it, specially in Tokyo area. Climbing to Mt. Fuji was one of the highlights of our 4 weeks Japan trip.

I'm hoping by then that this Covid-19 would have settled down a bit and life as we once knew it could possibly go on!! Public transportation is hugh in countries like this!! I was in Seoul last year and that's how everyone got around!! That's going to be my challenge for me as I've never used public transportation!! But I'am going to keep a open mind and hopfully by time I get there It won't be so scary to me!! I've subscribe to your channel!! And I look forward to more intel video's regarding Japan!! Thanks 4 Sharing🇺🇸❤🇯🇵

How did you get around in Seoul (and life) without using public transport? Its really a breeze and if you make a mistake most people will help you out. You also have time to study some basic Japanese to help you out during your travels. The Japanese people are very kind and helpful you will have no problems.

Guys, the places visited in the video are great. But they're not the only good spots in the area. 3 days is just too rushed. Take your time, sit down, enjoy the scene. Hakone alone deserves at least 2 or 3 days, much so for Tokyo and Kyoto.

I traveled with a buddy of mine and we decided to spend a 7 day train pass first (so directly from Tokyo to Kyoto for instance, and then other places). At the 7th day we returned back to Tokyo since the train pass expired, so we spent the rest ie. 6-7 days in Tokyo until we had to take flight back home. So if you feel inclined to check out Kyoto first that may be a way to coordinate with a shorter train pass duration. While you are in Tokyo with no regional train pass, the buses and trains are still cheap - or you could then go even cheaper with 2 day bus / local train passes. Just some tips, strategy if you will :) Enjoy your trip !
@GamesMore2475 жыл бұрын
@@janingenygard6151 thanks for the advice. However I'll be flying into Tokyo first and then departing from Osaka at the end of the 3 weeks, so that won't work for me. I'm getting the Shinkansen to Kyoto but was thinking about stopping at Hakone after watching this video. I've not found any deals or packages yet that let you get off the Shinkansen at Hakone and get back on the same day.
@janingenygard61515 жыл бұрын
@@GamesMore247 Right, yes that is true. If it's a single ticket it could be difficult to stop by Hakone, unless there exist some ticket with duration, like 24 hour. Dont think I have seen one such before though
