Few more days to spend in Tokyo before heading North, will give it a try! Thank you Japan Guide for being such a great source of inspiration for planning my 2-month trip in Japan.

Sam!!!! We love it when you appear in the videos. Definitely missed seeing you. I do kind of miss the food nods. Everytime we go out to eat we mimic Sam's food nods so it's special. Great video guys, excellent shots and was very entertaining

Went there last year, recommended if you like nature and hiking, there are several routes, we took the easiest.

I was there 2~3 times I think. It's a great place and I always enjoyed my visits. I can especially recommend it in autumn with the beautifully colored leaves. In autumn the air is also usually dryer and clearer, so the chance on seeing Mt.Fuji is higher too. By the way, even if it's a bit cloudy, you might have a chance to see Mt.Fuji around sunset. At least it's silhouette 🗻

Just heard of Mount Takao for the first time (via my WaniKani kanji practice which mentioned it) and decided to look it up, and this video sold me instantly. Planning on doing my second trip to Japan in the fall, and hell or high water, I'm doing a Mount Takao side trip. Thanks for the great video!

Mt. Takao has many hiking trails. It's more fun to take the nature trails when going down the mountain.

Amazing video! I've always wanted to go to Mt. Takao, but I didn't want to go when it's very busy💦 Now that it's quiet, I'd love to finally give it a try. Thank you very much for a wonderful guided tour!☺️🙏

😎 Love Takao-san! Nice and easy beginners hike and one part you left out of this video is the Onsen at the base of the mountain right next to Takaosan-guchi station! Best way to finish up a sweaty hike (with beer too of course!)

Thanks for the video! Had this location on my itinerary but wasn't sold on it until I saw this. We are planning on doing this and then taking the Shinkansen to Sendai for the night. Would you say this is a good half day trip, pretty much doing everything shown here, or a full day?

Do you have to make advance reservation for the beer mountain?
@japanguide3 жыл бұрын
You don't have to but it can get quickly crowded so best might be to make a reservation by phone or online via their website.

Hi! We're planning to hike Takao San on this coming Saturday. Can you please suggest that would it too cold or snowy or we could hike.
@japanguide2 жыл бұрын
The forecast is cloudy. Rain from the evening. Temperatures are forecast to be similar to today. Dipping slightly below freezing in the early morning and then rising to around 8 degrees during the day. Not "too cold" if you bring proper clothing. I don't think there is much snow left, and the trails are open.

may i check how long is the whole trip from central tokyo to mount takao and back to central tokyo? do u need a whole day or half a day is enough?
@japanguide Жыл бұрын
It takes around 50 minutes from Shinjuku Station to Takaosanguchi Station. The hike to the top takes around 90 minutes but if you use the cable car or chair lift you can cut that time in half. If fast pace isn't an issue it is doable in half a day! If you need more info on Mount Takao, don't hesitate to visit our dedicated page: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3029.html Hope this helps!

can i take chuo line rapid service for takao?
@japanguide5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the JR Chuo Line connects Shinjuku to Takao Station where you would need to transfer to the Keio Line and ride one more station to Takaosanguchi Station. However, Keio Railways offer the cheapest and fastest connections to Takaosan. Connecting Keio Shinjuku station directly with Takaosanguchi Station. Here's more info: www.japan-guide.com/e/e3029.html#section_get_there

I love these videos , but when planning a trip i like to know the cost. In these videos you never state the cost of things like trains or entry into attractions. It makes it hard to plan out cost. I like the video :)

Sam I don't know why I'm such a fan of your moves but 0:48 definitely looks like you're lifting a gun or anything. Anyway quite disappointed that you cut out all the food-nods this time haha
