Hello from Oklahoma! Another great video! 👍👍👍I have carved many spoons. Before I purchased a spoon knife, I used a hot coal to burn out the bowl of the spoon. Good job on your spoon! Also, a piece of an aluminum arrow shaft makes a great fire bellows. I cut mine to fit my backpack. Being a hunter, I always have old arrows. Thanks again! God Bless!

Double D, thank you again for your comment! I loved reading it. That's very interesting - burning the bowl of the spoon with a hot coal and using an aluminum arrow shaft as fire bellows. I didn't know you could use that, thank you! Thank you very much for your advice! God bless!

I was surprised to find that I am opening your new video like a child waiting for Santa Claus ... I was impatient! Thank you for this emotion, Johanna! I look forward with open heart to every new adventure you present to us ... Very beautiful filming! The light and the shadows caress ... Sometimes I argue with myself because I forget how beautiful nature is and how much it gives us and how much we are asleep at this act of creation and in ourselves. Wonderful! The spoon seems to take shape and supple! And the flowers, the tea put in the glass jar look great. I am convinced that the taste was in line with the colors! It seemed to me or was there a bear in that bush ??!! And a fox so close! I can't wait to continue! Congratulations and thank you for everything you share with us, for the undeformed beauty that you seemingly, simply, but, in fact, with so much effort, you give us! I believe that this is how mastery is achieved, step by step ...

😄 The comparison between my videos and Santa's presents is wonderful. Thank you! I'm honored! Related to what you said - “The millions are awake enough for physical labor; but only one in a million is awake enough for effective intellectual exertion, only one in a hundred millions to a poetic or divine life. To be awake is to be alive. I have never yet met a man who was quite awake. (...) We must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, not by mechanical aids, but by an infinite expectation of the dawn, which does not forsake us in our soundest sleep..”― Henry David Thoreau, Walden Yes, that was a bear. It's the first time I see one - and it was so close - 20 meters away from me. My encounter with the fox was also something new. I had never experienced something like this before. The fox even touched my hand with her nose when it smelled it. Thank you for watching and for your beautiful words!

Just started watching these videos about 2 weeks ago. This lady is something special. I'm retired, disabled and quite elderly so I don't get to go out much. Johanna brings so much joy to my daily life. I'll bet I watch 10 videos per day. Would love to find out more information about this amazing lady. Like how she came up with her name, also how did she learn her skills? Ex military? All I can say is a BIG thank you and keep these videos coming because you have a special gift and bring so much joy to so many daily. Nick from the beaches of eastern Long Island. Even though our beaches are beautiful I miss my hiking days while living in Northern New Jersey where the mountains, lakes, streams are also beautiful. However, im envious of those beautiful mountains, lake and streams of Europe. Have a great day all!

Again a beautiful video. Nice to see you also pickup woodcarving. What a joy that is right? I used to do it as an child and after almost 35 years I picked it up again this sommer. Also made a spoon and 2 cuksa's. What a beautiful coksa you have. I really like the model. I will try to make 1 of those. Planning to go into the Woods this week. First week of November. Nice tarp setup. The stick didnt border you when you have to go outside in the middle of the night? Knowing myself I will staple upon it. Ha ha. I saw other bushcrafter used this model also. I quess lonewolf 902 even devellop 3 types of this tarp. I will try this setup but try to tied up the upper end to a tree if possible. Quickly going to watch your part 2 end 3 of this series. Thanks for a GREAT VID AGAIN. Best of luck to you and stay healthy. Vince aka Redman in the Woods.

Lingua Luminum, thank you very much for your beautiful comment! That kind of light creates a wonderful atmosphere, you are right. Yes, the next one is a little bit thrilling. It's the first time I see a bear in the forest, and it was very close - 20 meters away from me, I think. But he was very beautiful, and he ran away when he saw me. I'm sorry I couldn't film him better. It's hard to do that very fast when you are using manual mode on your camera.

Creating such a video requires many many hours of hard work. The filming is fine, but this video is also the result of days of editing - cropping and adjusting the images, the lighting, the colors, the sound. 30% of what I filmed I can't use, I just have to throw it away. All in all, I know I'm still making lots of errors and I hope my video quality will improve in time. Thanks for watching!

👍👍👍. Chopsticks .. I've been mulling for some time over getting a set or two for my Outdoor Doodahs. Watching you .. and how much easier it makes food prep .. will have find a suitable supplier for some suitable ones. Simple .. peaceful .. highly satisfying to sit back and watch. Also, albeit somewhat a loner, I have always been a keen observer of People .. watching what they are doing and how they go about their tasks. It's surprising how much one can learn and get great pleasure by sitting and observing .. thus .. A Story .. if I may please (some 'Useless Information' as I call it) .. please ignore if not of interest: Back in 1977-ish, I was a Production Shift Boss (Supervisor) on a Deep Level South African Gold Mine. My Section was on a Sub-Vertical Shaft 2000+ metres below the surface. We were still blasting the Tunnels that lead to the Gold Reef Plane and as such had not yet effected 'Holings' on the Inclined Reef Body .. a '2nd Outlet' .. another means to travel (and exit from the Mine in an Emergency) between the different Levels. Thus, the Shaft (termed a 'Single Outlet' one) was our only means of transport between the working levels and out of the Mine. One had to phone 'Upstairs' for a 'Cage' (Lift) in order to move between Levels and thus to other Working Areas. The Shaft Working Schedule meant that often one had to sit and wait at the specific Shaft 'Station' some time for an available Cage. We had a 'Boilermaker' (an Engineering Artisan tasked mainly with Steel-Related Fabrication, Construction and Installation .. lots of heavy duty work with Oxy-Acetylene Cutting and Welding Equipment) named 'Dries', his Surname escapes me, who used to do his steel fabrication on the various Level 'Stations' before going inside to install it. Inter alia, highly complex Steel Pipework ranging from 100mm to 250mm in diameter plus fabrications from Sheets of Steel up to 20mm thick and more. A quiet, tall, thin very unassuming man .. actually a very nice person. Watching him practicing his craft was for me, an absolute pleasure. He was an absolute MASTER of his Trade. Welding that had the metal sections being joined seem as one. Thick steel plates cut so smoothly .. looking like butter gone through with a hot knife. Complex, convoluted Pipe Construction Sections that when installed inside, fitted first time, every time. That and more. If permitted, I could have sat and watched him work (and learn) all day. Yep .. keeping quiet, watching, appreciating and learning .. something to be enjoyed. Take care ..

Look at that. A woman is camping in the forest. And she doesn't care what camera angle she looks better at. She cares about what she does and what nature looks like. This is her 7th video, and not once has she ever swam naked in a lake or river. There's not even a second of footage so I can think, "this woman here is trying to get more male followers by showing her body." Nope, even for a second . Can you believe that? She's doing what she opened the channel for. THANK YOU VERY MUCH JOHANNA. I think the night footage will get better over time. Maybe using light, maybe with a better camera. Thank you for sharing.

Tukuhe, thank you very much! I love nature, filming and doing things with my hands. These trips offer me a sense of peace and freedom. The things I do absorb all my attention. I couldn't think about anything else there. That's the beauty of it! My camera is old, indeed I would need a better one for night footage, but for the moment I think this will do. I have a led video light, but I didn't use it in this video. This was a 3-day trip, so I couldn't carry more.

With nature, thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it! The fox touched my hand with its nose when it smelled it. That was a wonderful new experience for me. The fox was very hungry, I understood that because it stole my bag of rice and started eating raw rice out of it. That touched my heart. I gave it something to eat. The fox just came and took the food from my hand. I think there is no problem with that, because that part of the forest is rarely visited by humans. So this fox surely wasn't accustomed to humans and won't see many humans in its life...maybe that is why it was so brave and approached my camp that way. I also talked to the fox very gently, and it felt that I had good intentions, so it wasn't scared. This experience warmed my heart. I think I needed that after I saw that bear - I was scared because of that. The fox encounter melted that fear away, and filled my heart with love.

@@WildGreenJohanna . Wish you've had time to film your experience with the fox. Yes, for a rarely visited area by humans it may be ok to give them some food; otherwise, you know it - people can give them harm, if they get used to approach everyone. Usually, main reason of animal approach is smell of food. During daytime it may be fine, but at night is crucially important to not leave any smell of food, especially if camping in an area where predatory mammals live. I've made that mistake twice and it was not fun::). Bears. The other animals are ok, but if you have bears in the area.. I dont know, never though about that..but I definitely would be prepared in much different shape. so, pls be careful, at least having with you a bear spray must be a must. Of course, the most deterrant thing while camping at night is the campfire.

@with nature, yes, I had time to film the fox experience. You will see it in my next video. That area is rarely visited by humans. I think nobody camps in that area (except me 😅). So, I hope I've done no harm. I am not even sure if the fox smelled something, because it was raining, I wasn't cooking and all I had left was rice, nuts, fruits, and some vegetables. Maybe it just saw the camp and came looking for food. I don't know. I just understood the fox was hungry from the way it behaved. I am careful and I hang my food in a tree, far away from my camp during the night. I always do that in the mountains. My country has lots of bears. They usually live in the mountains, but now I see they have descended to these forests in lower regions. I admit I didn't expect bears to live in that forest, that's why I wasn't prepared and I didn't make noise either. I went hiking for years in the mountains. I never had any problems with bears, never saw one until now, although we have lots of them. We Romanians usually fear the shepherd's dogs more than bears when we go to the mountains. I heard a loud branch crack (it was the bear), but as I didn't think that could be a bear, I just continued filming and being silent. When the bear appeared we were both very surprised. The bear clearly didn't know I was there, it would have avoided me if it had heard me or if it had seen me. We both just froze and looked at each other for a few seconds. Then I made a loud noise and he ran away. It was a beautiful light brown bear, very big head and neck (that's what I saw) and it didn't look aggressive at all. But from now on I will certainly be careful, make lots of noise if I hear noise and I will buy a bear spray, although I think and I hope I won't need it or ever use it. Thank you very much for your excellent pieces of advice!

I just reached 1010 subs and I think you and I have the same quality but still different. When you reach 1000 subs we can help each other in the description box by writing a @ + our channel names. In this way our followers can get inspiration from us to our channels. (the reason I say we can wait until you get 1000 subs is because KZbin have a rule that only 1000 subs can do so.) I do not make shoutouts in my videos so I can only recommend your channel through description, and since your channel is silent bushcraft I guess its the same with you. This is totally up to you if you want to cooparate like this. If you dont want to im totally okey with this- I will continue following your work! I have not done this deal with anyone ells so it would nice to do with you! All the best from Kristian!

Hi, Kristian! Thank you for your support! I'm glad you liked it! I am thinking of adding some channels to that section called Featured Channels on my channel homepage. I'll add your channel as a recommendation there, when I'll do that. As for the mentions (@+channel name), I will gladly do that when the content of the video is somehow related to one of your videos. No need for you to return the favor, Kristian. Wish you all the best!

Hans Lauper, thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. It's a zucchini. In my country we call them small pumpkins, but they are zucchini - light green color.

@@WildGreenJohanna that's very curious. In my language (Portuguese) Zuchini is also called a "small pumpkin". Abrobrinha being small pumpkin/zuchini and Abobora being Pumpkin.

@Andre L that is interesting, indeed. "Dovleac" is pumpkin in Romanian, and "dovlecel" means small pumpkin. Pumpkins and zucchinis are part of the same genus - Cucurbita. I now read that zucchinis are also called summer squash in English, and pumpkins are also called winter squash, so this might be the explanation for their similar names. Best wishes!
