Solo bushcraft camping in the forest, canvas tent, campfire cooking, nettle tea, bracelet making

This is my first bushcraft trip, solo overnight, using a canvas tent, campfire cooking - delicious recipes - guacamole with freshly picked wild garlic, campfire bread and salad, nettle tea. No talking, only peaceful nature sounds. The animal sounds you hear in this video are buck deer sounds.

Hi there .. from a South African living in Switzerland .. Very nice .. thank you for sharing. Notwithstanding previous Hiking Experience, for a 'First-Timer-Bushcraft-Tripper-Outer' 😯 .. phew, that was a mouthful 😏, you show a high level of Competence and Self-Assurance .. credit to you 👍 and a pleasure to watch. That meal looked delicious .. must definately give it a try. Canvas Tent and related 'traditional' Bushcraft Equipment .. yep .. heavy 😣. That said, the beauty of Bushcrafting is that one does not neccessarily have to cart gear for never-ending kilometers in order to practice the Craft .. unlike Multi-Day Ultra-Light Hikes with pre-set Way Points and End Destinations .. often a considerable distance from the Start. Thus, with Bush Crafting, traditional gear can be enjoyed as and when required. I live at the edge of our lovely little Town practically on the Banks of the River Rhine and our 'Wald' (Forest) is 75m behind me .. thus, 10 / 15 minute's and I'm in the thick of it .. Buck, Wild Boar and all. Anyway, an old knee injury, resultant opposite hip joint issues and 70 Summers under the Belt have now relegated long distance heavy Load Outs to the bottom of the list. Still active though .. Nordic Walk regularly .. just not under significant load and at an easier pace 🐢😊. Anyway, I had my share, when I wore a younger mans' clothes, in the Military, humping eye-watering loads through the Southern African Bush. OK .. enough 'Useless Information' for now 🙄😏.. Nothing much that one can add right now .. you seem to have things pretty well in hand. Perhaps one thing .. if I may? Lighting .. the current (subdued) ambient lighting in your videos add 'depth' to the visuals .. which is good. However, at times, one cannot see what you are busy with .. in the shadows. Not a critique .. but merely an observation. Take care ..

New subscriber from rural eastern Washington state USA were I am a 68yo widow living "alone" on 12 forested acres with the deer, wild turkey, frogs, song birds and woodpeckers as constant companions. There are moose, bear, coyote, cougar, fox and the rare wolf also. I LOVE your channel and look forward to binge watching to catch up. Beautiful photography and very peaceful. Your hair is so long! If you hadn't told us this was your first bushcraft camping trip I would have figured you to be an extremely skilled and talented person. I loved this video and the quality was excellent. Your videos in just a few short months will be incredible. That bracelet is absolutely beautiful. I love simple bracelets without all of the "doodads" hanging off of them. I wear a paracord bracelet I made myself. However, I bought the clip that has a small compass, whistle and tiny ferro rod. I glued a commemorative piece that represents saving the red wolves of Mexico and the Southwest of the U.S. I watched you closely prepare your dinner bread and meal as I love to experiment with recipes from other countries. I call the bread bannock only because I learned it from another You Tube channel. I must say though it is delicious and so easy to make. Yes, those sounds you heard were deer sounds. I don't know if Romania has bobcats but their sounds are pretty scary especially while you're sleeping. The animal sounds that scare me the most are wolves howling and from different directions; sounds as though they are surrounding you for an attack. For the most part animals are more frightened of humans than we are of them and they will avoid you unless they feel threatened. Beware of getting between mama bear and her cubs...back out slowly and find another path around them. That fire you made at the base of that rock was outstanding! I would much rather watch a campfire all night than TV anytime. At my age I need to bring a lightweight camp chair, much easier on the back :)

Hello, I am really enjoying your video's! Where are you from? What part of the world Are you hiking & camping. It is very beautiful where you are. I used to hike alot but My body has developed problems that keep me from even walking hardly at all. But I live now in the desert of Calif. With my 3 dogs. I am familiar with your Jesus prayer bracelet. I have 2 of them. They Are made by Monks in Another country. I don't remember where. One has a cross woven in and the other just a Fluff ball. 🙂 They are very special to me! Where did you learn how to make them? I wish I knew how! Hello! I am Romanian. I learned from a woman here in my country, when I was about 14-15 years old. In my country we can learn from monks or other Christians, too. Absolutely loving your videos!! you are doing great with using your tools, knife and axe and it is so nice to see someone, using their tools appropriately and correctly. You'll just keep getting better and better at it. So interesting the story of the 33 knot bracelet! Perhaps you could do a "what's in my bag" video, one of these days. 😄 Da, mai greu cu berea si carnea pe jar la mine. Dar sper sa vin cu retete variate, pline de culoare, care sa va placa. Multumesc mult pentru comentariu! Asta am vrut sa transmit prin film, o stare de liniste si bucurie. Imi pare bine ca am reusit! Astazi ar trebui sa incarc urmatorul film aici. Sper sa va placa! No, I have not. Cooking...I'm using some things I had at home for many years. The only new thing I bought is a kettle from Decathlon. The others I adapted, some I made myself, some I received as gifts from friends. So I could not really offer a list for the cooking set. Thank you! Glad you enjoy watching the videos!
