The Herriot Way is a 52 mile circular route in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales national Park. The route crosses one of the highest points in Yorkshire, visits historic monuments and passes through a barren industrial wilderness; laid bare through lead mining. Beginning in Aysgarth and passing through Askrigg, Hawes, Keld, Reeth and Castle Bolton, this a fantastic way to explore the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales, and it's a relatively easy route for beginners.

The Green Dragon at Hardraw closed suddenly in September 2022. It is still closed now (Apr 23). The campsite and tearoom are still operating. It was a great pub with many musical events. Your videos always amuse and entertain us - more please.

Hey Hazey. Thanks mate. Woke up this morning with the stirrings of a Black Dog Day, with very little spark to start the day and face work. Watched the first 10 minutes of your latest whilst hiding from the world, and I wouldn't say I sprung out of bed like those gates you were tackling, but your video put a smile on my face and I crawled out of bed with a 'medic!' We have three black labs, oscar, ebony and pepper. Our 1st black lab was called 'nibbler' but he fell off a cliff and had to be put down. Broke our hearts. So for a male dog it would be 'nibbler' but a female pup I'd call her 'hazel'. Its a type of wood and she would be forever yours mr haze!,

My mum's a dog trainer and she always says you've got to name your dog something you can bellow across a field or through a forest. So Twig suits that perfectly. Maybe Twiglet for full name and Twig for short? Can't wait to watch the little one joining the adventures!

As a Canadian where no one builds stone fences or intricate gates, (where I live on a farm) it always amazes me the work that went into building and maintaining them, over centuries in UK. I thought for sure you would go for a dip in that falls. Dog name: Skye.

You can't say 'stone fence' in British English: it's a contradiction in terms, because fences here are most often made of wood, metal or (domestically) plastic these days - never stone. They're 'drystone walls' ('dry' because no mortar is used, which allows them to move with the land) in England and - strangely - 'dykes' in Scotland. Very therapeutic to build or mend, provided you thrive on jigsaw-puzzles ...

I stayed in the pub called the drovers Arms that’s what it was called on the series. I think it’s real name is something different but that was about 25 years ago stayed in a four poster bed upstairs and they had 36-year-old Mcallan whiskey. what a treat that was.
