I love Bermuda... there is so much to do and public transportation is excellent and a good way to see the island... ferry from Dock Yard to St George... take a bus from there... stop by the Swizzle Inn..perhaps walk from there down to the caves... then buss to Hamilton... from there you can take a ferry back or take a bus.. either along the South Shore Road or Harbor Road.... Beautiful views for the price of a bus or ferry fair.

Been to Bermuda several times. Very clean and beautiful. You can’t rent a car unless you’re a citizen of Bermuda. You can rent a Moped. It’s beautiful and very clean. Don’t have to exchange currency they accept USD or Bermuda dollar. The cleanest island I’ve been to and I’ve been to about 15 in the Caribbean. They don’t like to be associated with the Caribbean. I worked for a huge Travel Agency so when I went there it cost me little to nothing. Stayed at the Grotto Bay Marriott my first visit and don’t remember where the second time but it was nice. I knew the Director of the Bermuda tourist board back then and she set it all up for us plus tours of the island. All drinking water is rain water and filtered the limestone roofs on all building into underground water tanks. Most Bermuda citizens worked two to three jobs. Our cab driver was also the President of a local bank and a Bartender. They have no Universities once students graduate the 12th grade most attend Universities in the US. Even though they are a UK territory they depend on the US Military for protection. I was told they have 99% graduation and employment. This was all back around 1993 when I was last there. They prohibit cars that have dents in them from being on the road. They have to be repaired before they can pass annual inspection for private vehicles and 6 month for commercial. Tour guide told us at that time they average about 10 traffic fatalities a year 8 being Americans who rent Mopeds and forget they drive on the left.

Hi. Nice tour. We have been in Bermuda twice (With NCL) and want to go again. On your video at 46:31-46:38 you can see the 3-mast tall ship. That "The Spirit of Bermuda". It's a replica of the very famous schooner. Visit it next time.

I want to thank you for visiting my Island. Also, the video was grand, I enjoyed see your reaction to the sights. Points for next visit, Aquarium Zoo, Fort Hamilton, The Battery St.David's, big guns ww2. Sothside was a US military Base, first Airforce, then Navy. Nothing left to see there. Coopers Island 4 beautiful beaches. Back in the day ,NASA was stationed there overseeing Gemini, Apollo missions. Still lots more to see in other parishes. See you next time.😊

New subscriber here! I'm really impressed with this video, and look forward to visiting Bermuda! One question - Why did Shawn and Amber only go ashore in Bermuda once out of 6 times?
@HalfFastCruisers2 ай бұрын
Thanks for subscribing. Shawn & Amber had terrible luck with weather, and this was why they really didn't get to see everything on their previous trips. However, despite this they still greatly enjoyed the cruises themselves.

Great video! Thanks for visiting us here in Bermuda. When were you here? Did you know that the cannons pretty much had a limited shelf life before they had to be retired. Years ago, before the Museum was established in Dockyard and Fort St. Catherine, back in the day they would just push them over the fort walls and then replace them with new ones,. Most likely everything you see were previously down in the water! Crazy, huh?

Wonderful, insightful video. Thank you!!! Very curious though, do you know why the scooter rental was discouraged by cruise ship? Was planning that rental with my adult daughter so wanted to ask what you heard.
@HalfFastCruisers4 ай бұрын
This warning is not limited to Bermuda. The cruise companies generally give that disclaimer everywhere they stop. They have safety concerns for a number of reasons, and I'm sure they have liability concerns as well. We will say that driving a scooter in an unfamiliar place with questionable traffic laws and customs can be very challenging. Please be careful.

Why does the cruise ship discourages scooter rentals?
@HalfFastCruisers2 ай бұрын
The cruise lines do not want to associate themselves with these vendors or be seen as encouraging their customers to rent scooters ashore for liability reasons. While we are mostly comfortable driving abroad, many cruisers may not be comfortable with local traffic laws and regulations and may be more prone to accidents.
@davidhurwitz22912 ай бұрын
Bermuda is a British island. They drive on the other side of the road , so your driving instincts are off. Many scooter accidents, so the cruise ship doesn’t recommend you rent one.
@HalfFastCruisersАй бұрын
We are sure that everything you posted is true. You need to be very careful when driving in an unfamiliar with rules that may be reverse from everything you've been taught your whole life. We do know that the cruise lines generally do not recommend scooters at most of their Caribbean destinations no matter which side of the road they drive on for similar reasons. Thanks for the post.

when on the sunset cruise, how much would be customary to tip?
@HalfFastCruisers4 ай бұрын
We're not sure if there is a customary amount. We've seen some give $5, $10 or even $20, and then others giving nothing. Our decision is usually dependent upon the level of service we receive. Hope this helps.

Hi everyone, may I ask why Amber & Shawn have only been ashore once in Bermuda out of 6x? Was it by choice, cruise length or weather problems? We are going on a 7 day NCL cruise in the end of October for our 30th wedding anniversary & are starting to book some things already so I was just very curious. Thanks for the wonderful video by the way🩵
@HalfFastCruisers5 ай бұрын
@@nicolewiltsey7793 what a coincidence,we are visiting with them right now. They missed several opportunities to go ashore due to weather. They also had to deal with a last minute excursion cancellation without notice on Royal Caribbean which they are still unhappy about. We think these issues are the exception and not the rule so plan away and hope for the best. We hope you enjoy your cruise, wish you an early Happy Anniversary.
