This is almost a copy of our trip to Kyoto in July 2018. We stayed at the same hotel (which was amazing), and the timing was perfect because it was also during Gion Matsuri. The only 'bad' thing was that this visit was during summertime, and it can be really hot in Kyoto, so we had to plan to do most of the daily trips as early as possible. Our favourite ramen spot was near Karasuma station (don't remember the name), but is was really good. One of the recommendations I have is to do a walking tour in the Geisha district, best time would be around 17:00 to 19:00 as than most geiko and meiko will travel to their appointments, and that is the best time to spot them. As Kyoto is becoming more and more crowded with tourists we have decided not to go to Kyoto anymore (been there 4 times, so we have seen a lot of spots already). If you want to see geisha's I can highly recommend Kanazawa. There are lesser number of tourists, and it also has many nice spots to visit.

01:51 I believe that's a plum tree! Plum (Ume) flowers are famous in Japan too, and they blossom just before Cherry blossom, spanning from Jan to March :) 02:01 That's Yatsuhashi, one of the most famous traditional sweets from Kyoto. It's like big sweet ravioli. Inside the mochi dough, there's Anko (Red bean paste) or Shiro An (White bean paste) sometimes combined with other fruit flavors. 12:10 I think the golden temple was originally built in the 14th century, not in the 19th! Thanks for sharing this video! There aren't many videos showing how the winter Kyoto is like so it was super insightful :D

I've been at Kyoto last November, some serious advice for the bamboo forest: go early. go super early. when sunrise starts, the place will start filling up with influencers and tourists trying to take photos while it's still empty. During daytime you can hardly walk there since it's so crowded. If you can't go there early, and you only want to take a picture there, don't bother. You will be rather frustrated than happy.

**Extra Context and corrections:** (At least the ones I caught/remember) 0:02 For vacation planners, 3 days is pretty damn short if you actually want to see alot of the cooler spots in Kyoto. You will be skipping some. 1:47 Gion is actually a lot bigger than what was shown in the video and alot of it is modern shopping districts. 1:53 Those are plum blossoms not cherry blossoms they bloom earlier in the year, thus why they were there. 3:34 the "emoji looking snacks" are called hanami dango. "Hanami" meaning literally 'flower viewing' 5:01 This is still Gion 6:23 Pontocho alley is definitely worth a walk through if you are in Gion. Right nearby is the famous kichi kichi omlet rice place with the flamboyant chef 8:10 The tram is not necessary to get to Arashiyama. Although it is scenic. There's a similar tram in the middle of Tokyo (rare) called Todenarakawa-sen 8:51 Despite it being dark here, they made a good choice going early. During the day this area is insanely crowded post COVID. 11:52 Peach Fanta is seasonal and not always available in stores 14:09 Japanese medical system is really good and often very cheap so don't be afraid to go into the doctors if you ever get sick or injured in Japan. 15:51 "Sushi train" or "conveyorbelt sushi" is called 'Kaitenzushi' in Japanese 18:12 You can go from the station to the top of the mountain and all the way to the bottom in 2 hours. If you are already walking up the path with the rest of the tourists then to the top only adds around 30-45 minutes. 18:30 The more you go up the mountain the less people there are at any time of day. So you can find some great photo spots even during the day.

I don't know how I missed your last video spontaneous trip to Japan. I'm so jealous, I haven't been there in almost 15 years?? I really miss the pork buns (Nikuman). I really believe that you were moved to the exit row because you flew as non-rev (American name for staff travel) If you were flying on my airline one of the big three in the U.S. we would definitely move a non-rev to those seats or if it was ok with the purser we would move you to an upper class of main cabin if seats were available. I have just a question for you. Were you on an A-350 from MEL-HKG? I saw on the safety information card that you were on a 777 from HKG-KIX. As a flight attendant I'm always interested in what aircraft you flew/fly on to different destinations and what they served you food-wise from which point to which point. Thank you for adding in so much information about needing a Visa, the hotel you stayed at, info on catching and buying tickets for the train and the other transit system (subway, metro), and all the interesting visitor places to visit.

Hello,🐦🌺 May I share an Old Testament Verse with you from Daniel 7:14 "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a Kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should SERVE Him; his dominion is an Everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom shall not pass away, and His Kingdom that which shall not be destroyed." Also, can I share Isaiah 53:5 " But HE was WOUNDED For our TRANSGRESSIONS, he was BRUISED for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His STRIPES we are HEALED." God the Father loves you so much that He sent Holy Sinless Jesus (His Holy Son) to earth to be born of a virgin. Then, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins. He was in the tomb for 3 days, then Father God raised Holy and Sinless Jesus Christ (Y'shua) to Life! He appeared to people and went back to Heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons sorcerers & idolaters & all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire & brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus (Y'shua is His Hebrew Name) and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?
