Wow wow wow, bears, salmon, sea lions, glaciers, history, earthquakes, waterfalls - I’ve just added Valdez as a destination in my lengthy list of must visit places in Alaska. I wish my husband got sent to conferences in such places. Thank you for being such good tour guides & for sharing Alaska with us.

Thank you so much Lauren & Mark, we truly loved your video and especially since we are old enough to remember the Exxon Valdez oil spill and remember watching the news and how horrific it was to life in Valdez. Seeing those beautiful 4 black bears and the happy brown bear 🐻 I will be showing my grandchildren who will love just seeing them in the wild via your lens , your eyes eyes & not on TV or in Zoo’s. You look radiant Lauren and your a better woman than me I would not have been able to handle the smell of rotten fish. Even at 52 I learn something everyday & I do love learning from you and everything Alaska has to offer. The glacial ice was beautiful and so interesting in their different natural ice sculptures. Thank you again, with love from Bonnie Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I was visiting my daughter and SIL in Valdez for 3 months, we fished the same area you are showing, bears and the fish weir, caught lots O.D. pinks and silvers, also worked the fish contest a few days, they weighed in a 401 pound halibut I think we were there in 2005. We also drove from Valdez to TOK, CHICKEN, FAIRBANKS, DENALI, ANCHORAGE AND BACK TO VALDEZ for 1400 miles,

It's still Good Afternoon Hamm Family ❤️ Still a perfect sunny, breezy, cool Autumn day... loving it 🍂 Valdez... what a nice little town. In my opinion small towns are the best. What a quaint lil chalet... nice room tour there at the end 🏡 Working vacays are sometimes surprisingly fun. A plus when you're on your own while your partner is busy with meetings and/or workshops 🧳 Fireweed is beautiful. Love the vibrant red color, similar in color to the Royal Burgundy Barberry Shrubs we have. Also, loving the pink and purple hues of the younger plants 🍃 What a fun tour/hike. The mountains and landscapes are gorgeous - the snowy mountains are just as gorgeous. Heli-skiing looks fun and intimidating ⛷️ Ice Worms... interesting 🪱 The smell of waffle cones? Hmmm, sounds like your preggie-senses are in full activation mode... LoL 😂 We've seen our share of waterfalls throughout various road trips and hikes we've taken over the years: Virginia, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, etc.; in all the seasons. Winter waterfalls are especially beautiful, moreso, when iced over fully or partially. Beautiful 💧 Your history lessons are wonderful to listen to; so interesting with or without visuals, but visuals do help bring the history to life 🧑🏼‍🏫 The fog makes the scenery beautiful and mysterious. In any weather, it's nice to try to visualize what the landscape looked like before humans came along or in the early days of human contact 🏞️ Wildlife sightings are special. The little bear is gobbling up his fill of fish. I wonder if his Momma gave him the boot or is watching nearby. I also wonder if the three little bears are related... perhaps the bigger bear is Momma checking in on her brood... stuffing their bellies in preparation for winter. The funny roadside brown bear was too cute. Five bear sightings in one day... a blessing. We saw "our" black bear last Saturday night as we drove home after a family campfire gathering at my brother-in-love's cabin, a mile up the road. He's getting to be a big boy. We have a lot of woodlands/forested and wetland areas all around us... here in the lower foothills. He minds his business, as do we 🐻 Good catch Mark... a beautiful silver salmon. So happy you found a family to give it to 🎣 More interesting history, glaciers, icebergs and waterways with the mysterious misty mountains as a backdrop... what fun... those chunks of ice, so clear and refreshing despite the silty water... every piece tells a story 🧊 KOA Campgrounds... brings back childhood memories 🙂 Museums are always a good option, especially ones that share the history and artifacts of the area you're in. The history of the earthquake is heartbreaking. Natural disasters are some of the worst. So many lives lost; the poor children and the heartache their parents felt must have been excruciating. People's homes destroyed... it's nice to know that despite the loss, they were able to rebuild. The timeline history in the second museum is so interesting, as well 🤔 Once again, thank you for letting me tag along. Safe travels. Take care and Yah's Blessings 🤗
