Yea I literally don’t get the phone stories at all. I don’t find them scary, simply bc they all involve, let’s just call it carelessness. Like my phones is in my pocket or in my room in my house, let alone in public, plus with find my, just remotely brick the phone and ur good. And as long as you frequently check if you have it with you (a pocket tap every couple minutes or during location changes for me) you basically have nothing to be worried about. I don’t get why some don’t have it, but a passcode helps as well lol.😂

My wife worked at LA Fitness for a few years and has experienced things as well (theft, sketchy people making others uncomfortable). One night she was closing, so she had to do a walk-through to make sure everyone was out before locking up. She went into the sauna area but as soon as she pulled the door outwards to open it, someone (most likely a man) pushed her back and she fell in between the wall and door. Whoever it was pinned the door against her for a few seconds before running out. That was the last time she closed.

Back in the 90's there was a gym in Phoenix called fitness west (no longer on business) that was one of the first 24 hr gyms around. There was a guy that worked by himself as a night attendant that was mentally unhinged and it only took a minute of talking to him to figure it out. One night there is a trash fire right outside the building and police discover a woman's badly burned body in the dumpster and it takes maybe five minutes for the cops to figure out she was at the gym when she was murdered and another five minutes to figure out it was the attendant that murdered her. I don't remember what kind of jail time he got.

If you guys thought gym horror stories happen at night, i have experienced something disturbing in broad daylight. We noticed during the day for several weeks an older man grooming a teen boy by being excessively touchy and friendly . Eventually we spoke to him and he said he is afraid to tell him to leave him alone so one afternoon we told him that we would bash his head in if he ever approached that kid again. We haven't seen him since.
