For the second story, it could be an Aztec death whistle, it's loud as hell and sounds a mix between human and animal. They used to be used by the Aztec warriors to basically scare the crap out of their opponents when going into battle. For being able to blow through it for that long while running the whistle uses almost no air to produce such a loud noise and the person might have had some contraption that could push the air through the whistle without them having to actually blow through it.

Best advice for hiking in random places..... DON'T. you never know what's out there and you have a good chance of getting lost (no matter how experienced you are). If you do happen to find yourself out in the middle of nowhere and lost, pick a direction and walk that way (preferably, turn around and go back the way you came, obviously) it sounds stupid and obvious but you would be surprised how panic can make you forget simple things.
@Skylerdouglas7313 ай бұрын

@clasherking45283 ай бұрын
@@cheesefries7436 you are correct, staying in one spot is definitely the best option, if you know someone is looking for you, if no one knows you're missing, chances are that people will not start looking for you from anywhere around a couple hours to possible days. In which case it's actually better to keep moving (yes there is a chance you could get even more lost, but there is also the chance you find something that looks familiar and find your way back) and, as these stories showed, you never know what or more importantly WHO could be out there with you.

I don't think the first story had anything to do with Mormons. I'm not Mormon, but aren't they notorious for being super nice and welcoming?
@kadenstutzman62163 ай бұрын
yeah; and usually helpful too. probably meant to be a "culpable by association" kind of thing
@ty77783 ай бұрын
lol yep. I think the author is confusing Mormons with some other group here. Mormons are more likely to help you fix any flat tires, give you a bag of garden vegetables and a book of Mormon and wish you well. Mostly pretty harmless people.
@ty77783 ай бұрын
Also, the garden vegetables is a sort of cultural joke that in most Mormon wards, we tend to grow too much squash and can’t seem to find ways to use it all come harvest season.
@WigglesMother3 ай бұрын
@@ty7778 Yeah, I grew up with jokes that you lock your car doors at church because otherwise you'll find it full of extra vegetables.

Yes, and the reasons that people somehow might connect to us being a cult have nothing to do with white hooded people in the woods. This cop like most is stupid.

This first guy is statistic waiting to happen "I like to hike alone away from the main trails in areas where I don't have any service." Brother if you wanted to be murdered and never found again you could just say that. It's hard to feel any sympathy for someone that puts themselves in these positions on purpose
@housel93523 ай бұрын
I think that story was very likely bullshit. The cop just happened to be patrolling in such a distant area just in time to save him? And sure Mormons may seem a bit odd, but they're not too bad despite the stereotypes. They're just another religion. I live very close to that trail, and it's just like every other stretch of land in that area: uneventful. Word would get around. Everything was too streamlined and convenient, like a fictional story.

Erm, I'm a life-long member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (AKA "Mormon") living in Utah and huge fan of the channel. Just wanted to put this out there: I'm equally freaked out at the prospect of white-dressed individuals chasing the first guy and anyone doing that is not affiliated in a good-faith way with our religion -- so it made me laugh that the writer connects them. I don't think anyone loves unfounded concepts tied to their culture / religion. So I wanted to offer that connection, and ask for my fellow fans' respect. Thanks all!

The first story is really weird; I’ve lived in Utah my whole life and never heard of anything like this?? Nor anything about this related to Mormons, they’re pretty chill & normal people, I doubt they were related to this story. Has anyone experienced seeing this too or heard of it?
