Thank you for interviewing your dad, Chris! This is probably the most intimate and relaxed interview I have ever seen him do I've been an Osmond fan since 1975 and your family has meant so much to me over the years. I just recently saw your dad in Chicago in June. He still has it! Wishing you and your wife the best on your podcast. I'm sure it will be a big hit.

I am from England and I have met Donny twice with my 2 eldest children. Emma shared her sweeties with him in Birmingham by the canal and he was so kind to her. Tom met him at a book signing at the bullring in Birmingham. Tom has autism he was about 12years old he stood in the queue all day to meet his hero it was an achievement as he to this day struggles in crowds. We finally got to Donny and he signed his book and then he stopped to chat with Tom. He will never know the impact of that day to my son his kindness to him he could have just signed the book. Tom was changed he walked out 10 foot tall because Donny called him buddy. We were then members of church and Tom hadn't been baptised because of his phobia of going underwater. But on the way home he asked to be baptised. Tom is now 30yrs he is a beaver scout leader and has a little job as a lunchtime supervisor in a primary school and he lives independently. But I had loved Donny Osmond from a child the nice guy but had wondered as an adult if it was all an act but it isn't he is a nice guy and he was kind to my kid when he didn't need to be and that means the world to me. That is what a true star is! Maybe one day he will meet Tom again who still loves soldier of love thank you xx

I have been a fan for sixty years and even remember seeing the Osmonds on the Andy Williams show. It is an honor to have had a crush on someone that has become such an honorable man who has integrity, humility, hummanity and exceptional talent. Donny, you are an amazing example and role model for who a husband, Father, performer and human can be. I'm thrilled to know that the Osmond talents are flowing into the next generations. Much love and best wishes to your family for bringing so much joy to many lives❤

I just saw your dad in concert in Colorado Springs Tuesday night and he was so gracious to come out the back of the auditorium to get pictures and say hi to all of us "old women"! It was a moment that my 12 year old self could only dream of!!! I had waited 54 years to see him in concert and getting to meet him was just a dream come true for me!! Your dad was so special to so many of us! Thank you for sharing him with us!

I don’t know if you’ll see this, but thank your dad for me. Going through an existentially tough time, sister died this month, and internally have been to the depths, questioning everything from who I am, my identity, everything. Although not Mormon, I have returned to my catholic faith, and find comfort in the Lord. But watching this reminded me of Donny Osmond, and then immersed in Piers Morgan interviews, etc., but ended up on Donny’s “Close Every Door To Me” from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. It have me the message I needed, color through the endless gray. We can only hope to be half as good looking, only hope to face a quarter of that voice, and an eighth of that talent. But; thank you. Quiet desperation in search of something healing, and that was it for me. Lot of tears. We are waking amongst a national treasure, and someone so beloved, but sometimes we need to be reminded of it. Like your father said, you get that burst, and then it’s disappeared onto the ether, until that always elusive next thing, when chasing a hit. But upon thinking of your dad tonight, this love and excitement suggests he’s already deeply woven into people’s souls. The world is better for him being in it, and your beautiful family, too. Thanks :)

I believe your father is an Angel on this earth, you look so much like him! About stardom, as a little child I dreamed of meeting Donny, I owned every album went to concerts…fast forward from 1975 to late 90’s when I was at my lowest point ever, I was sitting alone outside a temp job at the Lowes Vanderbilt Plaza in Nashville and your your Dad walked off the elevator looked my way, smiled, then turned to walk away and I was like, WAIT Donny? He turned around and said yes, lol….to this day I feel so blessed. He was the sweetest and even spoke to my best friend in Florida on the phone about her 4 daughters who were all young at the time. My husband died in 2005 after a liver transplant (Hep C) shortly after I met Donny. I wanted to give up numerous times but know I can’t because if you give up, you’ll miss the blessings, like meeting your childhood idol. 💜

The Donny and Marie show actually debuted at the MGM Grand before it went to the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. I was a lighting tech there at the time. They had never performed the show and were still putting it together. We worked very long hours everyday, with Donny right along side us. He was very down to earth, just one of the crew when we were setting up and doing rehearsals. The show was a blast to run and it was a great week. We were so disappointed they weren't going to be staying at the MGM. The hotel wanted them to work more shows than they were willing to do. Very sad for us, but fortunate for the Flamingo.

Chris ... I am 'here' because of your stint on Claim to Fame. Because I grew up with your Dad (born 1957), from the beginning of that show, I knew he was your Dad, because of my memories of your Dad at your age, I could see the resemblance. I'm so glad you've decided to stay in the 'business' because you do bring a calmness and wit to celebrity that's missing these days, when so many people want to be famous for fame sake. But to have a voice, and really be talented on top of that, outside of your famous relatives shadows ... you're handling your moment with grace. Congrats on the podcast and added another layer to the Osmond legacy.

Donny’s ability to compartmentalize his life is a true skill. I believe it stems from his Mother who would make sure there was a time to be a professional and time to be a regular person. It has served him well. This is why he can be both a great Father and entertainer.

Yes...would love to hear from Debbie Osmond and her perspective as wife , mother of boys. grandmother and her own individuality. I personally would like to know her disciplinarian techniques with boys especially since they have grown up so well. Ps. IDEA; Would love for Donny to do a 70s revival of his personal favorite songs of popular artists of that time period. With him performing each one and maybe a story behind each song.

I've been a huge fan of your Dad for over 55 years now and one of the main reasons for that aside from his unparalleled talent and showmanship, is the man that he is behind the scenes. One of the best interviews I've ever seen with Donny. So great to see and hear the "real" man and dad vs. the entertainer speaking with TV hosts. Enjoyed Alta's perspective on her famous FIL also. Please post continue other episodes with him to hear his perspective on his life and interactions with other performers. I would absolutely love you to feature your mom and your dad, to hear her experiences being married to a famous entertainer and keeping your family times separate from the business Donny. Look forward to more episodes!

Same on claim to fame, Chris you made the show! I gotta say. I'm a few years younger than you're dad. When my mom died and I was thrust into foster care, the osmonds gave me a model of what life could be like. Obviously I was a fan of you're dad lol but I watched you're grandparents be an amazing God first role model. Then I watched you're dad be a dad and you're Mom be mom. It made a difference in my life :) you are blessed❤

His love for his family is always number one as it should be and the time and kindness he gives to his fans is so incredible and shows the wonderful man that Donny is. He's the best! Wishing you every success with the podcast and your music career Chris...and of course continued happiness for you and your beautiful family.

This was so good! You are correct, your Dad cares about his fans. I grew up loving "Donny Osmond", but I never got to see him in concert. Last November, for my 65th birthday, I went to Vegas just to see your Dad, a dream come true. He sang Happy Birthday to me during the show, but at the end, he grabbed my hand and sincerely wished me a Happy Birthday and thanked me for coming. That meant so much to me. This podcast is great! You guys got right into the meat of what makes your dad such a special human. I have been a fan for over fifty years...and I have to say your dad's current show in Vegas, and his last album, are the best of his career!!! Listen very careful to his advice and emulate him as much as you possibly can Chris. It's cute because I've always thought that Debbie has the sweetest, kindest voice... and that you can just tell that she's such an amazing person. And I must say that Alta has a similar kindness in her voice. She also seems to have a sweet spirit and it was fun to hear her and get to know her as well! I love this - I hear that Donny is an amazing neighbor and friend also. There are certain celebrities that never forget where they came from and the struggles they had. They get it and relate to people at a higher frequency. This is why Donny is one of my favorites. Fans need to remember though - he is human and has bad days and it is very hard to always be happy. I have met Donny many times and he always knows how to handle the crowds and how to calm people down who are a little over excited. He makes the experience as special as he can for each person but will not tolerate rudeness or inappropriate behavior. Love him.

I am in my 60's so I grew up seeing the Osmonds Christmas specials, TV shows etc. Funny thing is I never really followed their music, but I adored them because of the family dynamic. I loved seeing their Mom and Dad in the specials and I so wanted parents like them and I wanted brothers and a sister. I adored Donny and Marie together and their teasing one another. They just had so much love in the family. OMG I still have a ticket for the expedition concert your Dad talked about at the end! Kudos to you for finding your own way looking and sounding so much like your Dad. It seems that you’ve picked up all of the best of him and your Mom. You’re being very thoughtful about your own career choices and your family.

Wonderful interview. I love that your Dad is 2 different ppl one is Dad at home and the other is Dad at work. His marriage has worked and lasted because he kept home life and family in the for front. That's a must! I have been a fan since I was a little girl when I watched The Donny and Marie show ! I love your family and so glad I found your podcast. God Bless you all! ❤

I enjoyed this interview. I recently had a birthday. My gift to me was I saw Donny in concert in Colorado Springs with my two sisters and then a few days later I saw Donny in concert at the Paramount Theater in Seattle with my husband. I live in Juneau Alaska. August has been a good month. 🎉. In the dictionary next to the word “entertainer”, it says Donny Osmond. I mean it.

This is fascinating. My mom has been a professional musician and lead singer and bass player my whole life. My brother and I were her biggest supporters. We were a team. She made it to the top 100 in San Francisco and made an album as well as singles, but never made it, big. David Rubinson was a big producer back in the day. He was her producer as well as The pointer sisters . My mother has been a professional musician for about 50+ years. She’s now 85 years old and just plays little gigs around town in Portland Oregon from time to time. The truth is I wouldn’t be who I am if I hadn’t had those experiences. It’s in Divine order❣️

I love this interview. So relaxed. When my daughter was in 7th or 8th grade she had to do a report on a Utah Historical figure. She chose Donny Osmond. We got her a dark wig and a groovy outfit. She got an A! Thank you Donny for your amazing talent and example. Thanks Chris for a great podcast.❤

Thank you Chris for this authentic interview with your Father. I was 13 when Puppy Love was a big hit in the UK. I was present at all the concerts at the Rainbow Theatre - the screaming, the heightened sense of excitement etc. Standing outside The Churchill Hotel waiting for a glimpse of Donny and his brothers on the balcony. Having watched various interviews over the decades this interview shows a more relaxed and natural Donny - relaxed with Chris, his son, and Alta his daughter-in-law. It's lovely to see. The music "industry" is a Beast and many have fallen prey to it.

Chris, firstly, I’ve been a fan of the Osmonds since the 70’s (before u were born!), and I thoroughly enjoyed your podcast with your dad, the wonderfully talented singer as well as all-around great human being, Donny Osmond! 💟 I hope you will have him back on your show soon as well as your beautiful mom as it would be great to hear her perspective on what it’s been like to be married to your famous dad who’s also a devoted family man. 👍 About your podcast - It was all so interesting, but my favorite part was the topic of Android vs iPhone as I had that same discussion with Donny recently! I heard him say in an interview on 4-29 that he’s an “Android guy” & loves his Pixel-8 phone, and that peaked my curiosity since I’m a Computer Science major & was a computer programmer! So at his final week of VIP preshows in Vegas this spring on 5-9, I asked Donny my burning question (unbeknownst to me that this has been an ongoing debate in your family for 8 years!) : ⭕Why do you prefer Android over iPhone / iOS❓ To my surprise, Donny spent over 3 full minutes answering my question! I could tell that he is both passionate & knowledgeable about this tech topic, even asking me what languages I programmed in! He said he’s a “tech-head” & a nerd, and I told him I am, too. 😍 Then when I attended Donny’s VIP preshow the next day, he immediately recognized me & called me “my fellow nerd” which is flattering coming from my idol of almost 50 years! 👍🤗 And when I attended Donny’s VIP preshow at his summer tour in Dallas just last week, I reminded him of our last tech talk, and he said he remembers me, so that was sweet music to my ears! 🎶👍🤗 Also noteworthy - Later at the same 5-9 preshow, when Donny was asked what career he would’ve chose if he weren’t a performer, his answer, to my delight, was a programmer! 👍 So now I feel an even bigger connection to Donny! 🥰 Please tell your dad “hi” from this former programmer & fellow nerd in Texas! 🤠 Hopefully, he still remembers me! 💟🤩💟🤩💟🤩💟🤩💟🤩 PS - Chris, you were great on “Claim to Fame”! ❤

Thank you. I like how Donny encourages others and gives credit and praise where it is true. Debbie is an excellent example how mothers can help keeping the family together and keep the family grounded. Don't be afraid to try different things and learn from lost battles. Reinvention is excellent in all our lives.

I am thoroughly enjoying this interview. I've been a "girl fan" of Donny for 50 years . He is such a down to earth decent guy. I was very lucky to finally get to see him perform in Nottingham England last Dec . He may be a performer on stage, but he was very normal and human, too. I have followed his and the "brothers" journey from childhood . Watched Jay's musical , my daughter is now a big fan of the family too. A brilliant interview Chris and Alta, (I have to say I upgraded to an android too 😂). Best wishes to all the family .❤
