Much respect to the Osmonds. Legendary family of talent and just great people.

It would be lovely if both the Osmonds AND The Jackson Five (with a posthumous nod to Michael) would someday be honored. Both groups contributed more than their share of talent and magical musical memories for generations of fans.

Donnie and Marie were my heroes growing up. I still love their music and have some of their albums. The Osmonds, the Partridge Family, and the Jackson 5 were such a part of my childhood. Couldn't ask for better role models as a kid.

Don't know when this episode was on, but ffwd to july/august 2023, Donny's son Chris, is on a reality show called Claim To Fame. It's season 2. The contestants live in a big house in calif and try to keep their celeb relative a secret from the rest of the contestants. They get clues from the clue wall (that also includes fake clues to no one), and games they play to get clues to someone's relatives. At the end of each show 1 person is picked to guess someone. If their guess is wrong, that persons celeb relative is revealed and they must leave the house. That's the gist of it. Some clues for Chris are, colorful coat, puppy love, utah and vegas. He's been picked to be guessed and leave the house 3 times so far. They've guessed elvis, elton john and billy idol so far. Seems most of the rest in the house get fixed on one or 2 clues like vegas and colorful coat, and forget about puppy love and utah. I hope chris wins!

Back in the day, a smart concert promoter should have created a Jacksons/Osmonds national or world tour.

Now THAT would have been one for the ages! Unfortunately, I don't believe that Bill Sammeth, who was the Osmond Brothers' manager back then, would have gone for the idea. Both groups were iconic in their own right, and it certainly would have made for an unparellelled event. I, however, was one of the millions of crazy Os-fangirls, who relentlessly followed them during their wonderfully memorable early 70's heyday. Their concerts were the BEST!

@vaskylark Жыл бұрын
@@ellioshiem7892 Maybe so, but I lived the 70's and the Osmonds were the biggest act around. I liked both but make no mistake Donny especially was the biggest Pop star on the planet in the 70's.
@birdsfan57 Жыл бұрын
@@vaskylarkNo, that distinction would have to go to David Cassidy. It was noted back then that only the Beatles in their early heyday could match the crazy fan hysteria and popularity of Mr. Cassidy. Donny was a definite close second though.

I’m old enough to remember another first family of Mormon singers and musicians billed as the King Sisters, King Family and King Cousins. The sisters were incredible vocalists and did everything with class and elegance. Their husbands, children and grandchildren were also gifted singers, musicians and/or actors.
@birdsfan572 жыл бұрын
They were the BEST! Their Christmas specials each year were a " must see" event in our home during the 60's. So very talented (and VERY blonde...lol). I always wonder what became if them.

I believe that one of the cousins ( I think her name was Tina Cole) went on to star opposite Don Grady in "My Three Sons" back in the early 70's...
