In your sound clips, it does sounds quiter on the inside but sounds more throaty when you get on the gas. To me, I like the way it sounds now

it's not quiter, it's just a deeper tone. it has more rumble and less scream now...I have an lb7 with 3in downpipe, 5in exhaust to 8in axle dump with bigger fixed vane turbo and it's stupid loud

Lol the lb7 doesn’t have the hiss noise because the vgt turbo used on 04-5+ is what gives it the hiss noise that I think sounds terrible

Do u have a lot of hiss with the straight pipe? I don’t mind the hiss too much but I don’t want it to cover up the Rumble or turbo sound completely. I’m thinking of getting muffler to cover that up but if it’s not too bad I would do straight pipe

I have a LML I just installed a 3” dp and from inside the cab it sounds like the intake is sucking more air but I narrowed it down to the Dp. Is it normal?? It drives me crazy I can’t tell if it’s normal or if there’s a leak it’s only when I reach 1500-2000 RPM’s please if anyone has noticed it lmk. your truck sounds amazing bro 😎

I installed a 3" MBRP downpipe on my LMM and it was a huge PITA. I just installed a 5" straight exhaust on my LML this week, not looking forward to doing the downpipe on this LML when I get to it.

608 DIESEL lml is easy as hell did mine in 35 mins. Hardest part was pulling the two sensors and 9th injector. You can also pull it with the heat shield on comes out just takes some wiggling. Good luck lml sounds amazing when its done 👍

Sounds so sick man. I did the same exact set up minus the downpipe. About how long would you say it took you? Did you have to remove the oil dipstick? And make sure you do the tunes before you do the intake. I’ve heard it will go into limp mode. But not 100% sure about that

I just did my exhaust and you are correct, when you are cruising or off the gas, it is nearly silent now. I thought that was very odd too. Did you feel a difference in power and pedal response?

Would having a body lift help in any way for changing the downpipe? My buddy wants me to help with changing his and he has a body lift with a torsion key to level the truck

Definitely would make it easier, increasing the distance between the engine and firewall

Yes, as far as I know with cummins anyway you do get a smaller sized downpipe with an exhaust kit and then it becomes Whatever size exhaust you ordered 4 or 5 inch, and from my recent research Duramax seems to be the same
