I won’t say the name, but I worked for one of the big corporation Pest companies. They’d constantly encourage technicians to do unethical things and hold them to unrealistic standards. Seeing this video, you’ve definitely made me realize I didn’t dislike the work itself and instead it was the company and management that I disliked. So thank you, In the distant future I’ll probably consider getting back into the industry, but this time with a smaller locally owned company.

Termite warranties is free money.. you just need a flashlight and inspection form and a screwdriver…. If you find termites before the inspection, you sell the job and then warranty it
@omnislash661926 күн бұрын
No sense in warrantying a home with termites already, fact is youll be losing money. Best thing to do is a normal VISUAL inspection and if there are active termites in or around the home then sell it yes and treat but do a retreat because youve no idea what damage was caused by eastern subs behind the trim or wall. If none , then have a checklist to go by

So just to give you a tip it’s a good idea to sell commercial properties like multi family that has issues with German roaches if you have slow months. Residential is easy stuff but having 4 years experience just in multi family in Vegas German roaches are a year round issue. Sometimes best you can hope for is control not eradication. They can move through walls but it’s better to have something as opposed to nothing but we NEVER have a slow month.

If you don’t mind me asking, how much experience did you have before you started your own pest control company?
@shawncsloan4891Ай бұрын
Some states have requirements on being able to open your own. For example here in california you have to work under a licensed operator for at least 2 years before you can apply for a license to start up your own company.

Sounds like the same thing I do, but yeah I agree with the rain. I love cloudy days though, for 2 reasons, one is that it's not too hot and second is the liquid won't evaporate that fast, gets time to work. In Florida it rains every afternoon. If you know anyone in the villages FL who needs service, send me some business 😂

In the start of the video you said you were going to treat for fleas, then you started spraying the yard with the flow zone backpack sprayer… you are supposed to do an overlapping method, you just walked around with no method and you missed a lot of spots… use a pattern and overlap…. Plus you walked over the areas you treated. Walk backwards in straight lines while overlapping that way you cover everything. I own a pest control company in Los Angeles, been in the pest control business for 40 years

What was your way of studying for the exam. Is there any tips you can give me. I will greatly appreciate it
@L0pez2667 Жыл бұрын
I’m gonna assume you are here in Texas and that you mean for the CA exam. The CA exam is 2 parts, one is laws and regulations and the other is general standards. TDA and or PSI has great books that can be purchased from their website when scheduling for the exam. Don’t know about Arlington but for me personally I just absorbed a lot of Information from the books and the technician class I took prior to taking the exam. I also do well with cramming a bunch of info right before a test then writing down anything and everything I can remember before starting my exam.

2 years in, handed out 1,000s of business cards, gone to several corporate events, etc. I've made 32,000 to date. 15k a month seems like a pipe dream to me. 😢 How'd you grow so fast? I'm located in a bigger area with probably 15+ companies all within a 50 mile radius so could be part of the problem.

Buy customer base to get started, but out a struggling company. It'll give you a boost. I find that most customers won't do business with you if they have never heard of you, word of mouth advertising is the best, you use your existing customers as your advertisement, works really well. Friends family, give then a discount and referral bonuses, there's nothing better than taking care of your existing customers.
