Training with a light bat for a month helped me a lot. My second week with a heavy bat and now I'm swinging almost as fast as I was with the bat that was half the weight.

Absolutely! Research studies support your experience. Doing a light to heavy sequence has proven to help with bat speed along with other areas of weight training.

@@nextgenbaseball9936 Exactly, you can't move a heavier object fast if you can't move a light one fast!

Hi, I'm a KZbinr who reviews baseball products and translates and uploads overseas baseball training videos in Korea. I'm so touched by your video. It's the best! If you don't mind, can I translate it so that Koreans can see it? Of course, I'll link your KZbin channel. let me know

Thank you so much for your message and I am glad you enjoyed the video. However, I do have to decline at this time. Reason being is that I get a little hesitant with messages from overseas. Your channel seems very legit, however it's just paranoia that I have. Thank you for you asking permission first!

@@nextgenbaseball9936 Thank you for your reply and I understand your situation. I get hurt a lot while playing baseball, and even if I want to have fun playing baseball, I watch a lot of people who quit, so I keep looking for videos to see how they can have fun and practice accurately. Then I saw your video and thought it would be very helpful and Koreans would know about it, so I asked for your permission. Please let me know if you have any plans to allow me later. Thank you.

Isn't exit velocity partly a result of how much you spend on a bat?
@nextgenbaseball99362 жыл бұрын
That’s a good thought, however all of the bats that are sold today have regulations on them such as “BBCORE, USSSA, or USA.” These regulations restrict how fast the ball leaves the bat. And in my experience from tracking exit velocity on hitters, I’ve noticed that the type of bat does not influence the exit velocity at all, only what the certification is. The mechanical movements and efficiency of the movements has the largest impact.

Hmmm Well i guess ill have to practice this for 200 batting swings tomorrow :/ cause i want those extra 15-20 feet so i can hit 255 foot dingers off a batting tee
@nextgenbaseball99363 жыл бұрын
My bad for not clarifying, these are usually the immediate results I see from hitters when using these drills. Over time I’ve had hitters increase as much as 10-15 mph of exit.

how many reps do we do for each drill?
@nextgenbaseball99363 жыл бұрын
I usually have my guys build these drills into their routines and take about 10-20 swings before moving onto the next drill. Over time, these habits start to become part of your swing. Feel free to send me video of your swing to steve@nextgenbaseball.com
