Bleeding the brakes on a dual master cylinder setup is a family affair. It took three of us to get all the air out. The custom brake system is now complete and fully functioning! Multiple leaks were discovered unfortunately in areas I didn't expect! #Porsche911 #BrakeBleed

Hey Tom, you don't have to take the calipers off to fit the pads, just remove the pad retainers and slide the pads in then replace the retainers - super easy!

@@GarageTimeAutoResto When you do the pad retainer bolts back up do not torque them, just pinch tight. if you torque them they can put too much load on the caliper and cause the pad to bind.

I think I started apprenticing as a brake bleeder for my dad when I was about 8 years old.... haha. One thing we did differently was to keep the bleed hose submerged in a small amount of clean/fresh brake fluid in the glass jar we would bleed into. This prevented sucking any air back into the system if you weren't quick on the wrench when the pedal was released. My helpers are a lot younger than yours (3 & 6) but they are out there almost every day working on my 911T with me! Thanks for the videos.

I definitely like pressure bleeding- it also to only thing working on modern cars and you can do it solo :) - I think it is easier to do brake lines in copper instead of stainless. Nice to have all the brake system sorted out. Almost ready to ride

I must correct you about all Porsches requiring caliper removal to change pads. My 993 calipers have a handy spring latch to quickly change pads. Most have pins to remove in order to change pads

@@GarageTimeAutoResto That is what I thought for you to make a statement like that. I don't know if I would call a 25 year old car, a newer car. I installed thr 993 calipers on my 73 hotrod. Way overkill but looks nice. As a Porsche mechanic, I don't recall ever working on a 911 where the calipers have to come off. The Cayenne is the only one I remember doing that to.

I love electric impact tools. Would suggest that you not use chrome sockets with an impact gun though, you run the serious risk of them shattering and injuring you.
