So this video inspired me to go for the first look, and it does look great, got a lot of compliments and everything but I have a couple of problems with it. If it's a bit windy, my hair will start going in all directions making a simple walk on the street pretty uncomfortable. And if it's hot, all that hair in front of my forehead starts sticking to the forehead due to the sweat. I guess I can't really get used to longer hair, probably gonna switch back to a short faux hawk or something

Hey, I’m a licensed master barber from New York. Why don’t you try getting a high skin taper w/ long natural top texturized after being cut. Great classic look, and the skin taper adds a subtle modern touch without putting you in the same boat as the million fade or low fade styles you’ve seen. You’ll stand out.

It depends on what you want to see on your head. I usually apply 8 to 10 splashes of strong sea salt spray and distribute it gently all over my hair from roots to tips, curlying it with fingers. Then I blowdry my hair and do the same distribution trick with a little scoop of texturizing clay, but i try to not hit the roots so hair doesn't fall down
