Playing a wider variety of racing games (and getting good at them) helps immensely. That type of exposure will make you a more versatile player b/c there is a lot of overlap between racing games. On top of that, you'll also be able to pick up new racing games much faster than most people. "How is he already this fast???" This is your answer.

gives you a different perspective as well which is super useful. very hard to improve when you get tunnel vision in one game

One of my tips that's mainly based at forza but is also useful in nfs and the crew is to turn off your assists, just using manual can vastly improve your times! I did a run on fh5 on a 3 minute sprint without using a clutch which put me in the top 500 (I'm quite skilled at forza so I doubt many of u would be able to set a time like that without using a meta car. I then set a time with the same car and tune and I improved by about 3 secs putting me in the top 200 on a populated leaderboard.

Having the right build for the right track is the thing i've been struggling the most with. Just because your car is S+ doesn't mean you'll beat a rigiera on coast to coast. It cost a lot of money to get a car best in class and it's such a waste of find out that when you do all that work, and then it's not good in that class. All the builds that I pulled from the internet feel unbeatable, but that's because I watched the videos. They literally told me everything that I needed to know about the car. Where as my best build that I made on my Dodge Charger to grind out the Srt. That took a lot of trial-and-error just to get it to decent good.

With learning tracks; learn the types of turns there are and how to take them. Know how to drive a chicane vs a double apex. They learn to identify which turns are which and start to focus on your lines.

I would also add one more, if you already know tracks and meta: use manual transmission. It can really give you extra few seconds, especially at the beginning of the race.

The third point is very good. Imitating a good racer can make you run faster. I have been watching Goliath’s video and imitating it. Discover ran from the original 6 minutes and 50 seconds to 6 minutes and 28 seconds. Of course Thank you, your video is amazing

How to get faster/better at a racing game, easiest thing to do: don't treat it like a real race. *Meaning, you'll WANT to stay on track all the time cause it's the 'right' thing to do. But if you're trying to be faster, sometimes it's faster to smash a few barriers **_(taking no damage besides cosmetic)_** then boosting **_if available_** right after the 'penalty slow down' the game forces.* Yeah you wanna keep your lowered Mx5 pristine and happily looking at the end of the races but that MF that finished 20mins ago has his shit _cosmetically_ looking like a shit faced troll doll.
