number 3 is a crazy trick. never seen that one before. its crazy the amount of hidden things in blender where the only way youd ever learn is through tutorials like this. thanks

The cloth brush is really cool. The third way you did it causes this hard edge, so where you select the vertices and assign 1, everything else is 0 with no gradual transition which doesn't look natural. I believe there is actually a tool you can use for that in the weight painting mode, where you can just take the average brush at whatever strength you want and just start painting over the edge. You can also just use the weight painting tool instead of the select tool for easier control over where you want the noise texture to show through.

Hey Bro 😂, I was wondering why I got a way softer result as you got in your video. I've done all the same steps and same sizes as you did in the video but as soon as youre going over to the Sculpting mode, my result seems to be way less noticeableas in the video. I'm using the same cloth strengh 0,5 and radius 50px. Only when I put the radius from 50 to 250 I do see a different result but its not the result I would like to see as its too big. I'm using Blender 4.1. (On Steam) Any tips?

I've managed to solve it by making sure my cuts where square and my subdivision values were both 3. Now it works!
