Thank you Rens, great tutorial once again. Small tip: you can also invert your selection by just pressing the designated icon in the toolbar. Right next to the red cross (deselect)

Ah,yea of course. Thanks for the tip! I personally rarely ever use these buttons. I use keyboard shortcuts wherever I can haha 😅 Glad you enjoyed the tutorial!

Thanks very much for this tutorial. I recently took the leap from Adobe's subscription to using all-Affinity. Removing blacks is crucial for my laser engraving mockups, and this has really helped! Much appreciated.

this is beautiful and now I know who to talk about doing something that I've seen on PS and not here ;)

Haha you know where to find me! I’m actually thinking of creating a paid community (off of social media) where all dedicated Affinity Photo users actually get the help and feedback of other members - like myself - who all share their knowledge. I think the best way to learn is to group with likeminded people. In addition my courses, monthly live sessions and other exclusive content would be available for all members. What do you think? What you be interested?

@@IAMRENSI I'm not if I could use it since I hardly do but then there is AI and makes me wonder if there is still a need for these programs sigh

Very nice! It would be interesting to take the results from each of these three techniques and layer them together with the Difference blend mode to see if they produced the exact same result or if one technique is better than the others for certain situations.

Thanks Steven! I actually think the results are pretty much exactly the same, it just depends on how much black you remove (I.e. how big the selection is). So I think you can just pick the one that is most convenient 🙌
