But I don't understand why some mockups look different after downloading.. I can't fix this problem in the affinity photo and it frustrates me. Can anyone help me?

Was an Adobe junkie for years and tried Affinity photo just for fun. Figured out the workflow and left Adobe for ever. What a wonderful and useful little piece of software this is! Was happy. Am a bit happier now. 🎉

Have you discussed what computer/pens/screens/hardware you use? The best I have right now is a Lenovo Yoga laptop with a touch screen and a pen that works with it to draw on. It's alright, but I was hoping for something better. I can use the mouse too. Just curious what you use or a range of products you recommend.

Seriously great! Just more and more reasons to love this program. It's great that there are a few different ways to create mockups using displacement and also warping. I'm a newby at all this, but so far, these lessons make me feel like I've got a handle on it! Thanks!

As a program and prices Affinity is certainly good (and convenient) but as for automated functions it is rather behind (if compared to those of certain image correction programs present online...). Affinity should introduce several automated functions to correct images better and with a few clicks, otherwise you always have to use plugins and it is annoying to add so many MB to those already present...

Really good. Do you then save as .pgn file? Could you show how this looks in a video as an insert? Thanks.

The thing I also love is that many companies today have a subscription model, but also a perpetual license at a 3000% increased price. Affinity photo has a freaking humane one time purchase price, we're not forced to pay 1000$ or choose the sub. Affinity Photo for life, fuck Adobe and their AI bs, we don't need that :)

Great tutorial, far easier than using seperate curves. Not sure why, but the colour picker would not work, had to enter the values manually. Selected the picker in the colour gradient tool, but it would not change the small swatch, stayed red/green/blue respectively.

That was pretty amazing. So if you use the healing tool just on the image without separating the frequencies, it won't work?

Affinity is fantastic software. There are a few weird things. If you use the healing brush a lot (I do) - it does NOT work the same as Adobe's - it's clunky and does a horrible job at actually sampling texture/data and fixing errors on your photos. In Designer, they do NOT have a trace feature - something I know many people use in Illustrator. I'm sure there are other differences, but if you need specific tools - research the software before you switch. I got Affinity 2.0 for $99 - it was a no brainer for me. They are owned by Canva now - so we'll see what happens in the future.

Thanks for the great workflow... To this gets neverending work, since I then with a less prerefined picture, has to work it over again when I get to close.. But I do love the (reddish) overlay which is much more helpful than things just disappearing.

Hi everybody! I am subscribed to the APC community created by Rens and watching this video on his KZbin channel and participating in discussions about it on APC, I decided to buy this shortcut tool right away (no tablet because I tried it years ago but I find myself better with the mouse for my Affinity Photo / Designer creation)! So, thanks Rens for this useful suggestions, Happy 2025 to everyone and I look forward to seeing you on APC to share and always learn new things all together!!! 😎

Hi Rens and thanks for the great intro! I’m an Affinity user and don’t see it listed as one of the preinstalled applications in the Xencelabs site. Is that correct and does it need to be programmed by the user before using with Affinity , Nik and DxO etc.?
@IAMRENSIАй бұрын
It’s not preinstalled yet, but one of my community members who works closely with Xencelabs said they’re working on it. For now you got to program it yourself, which in the end is probably the best way to go about it anyways!
@kirklaws-chapman7281Ай бұрын
@@IAMRENSI Thanks very much for the clarification - I have done that with my Huion tablet so I understand what's involved. Some viewers of the video may not have got that step from watching it, especially if they haven't used tablets before. Also worth noting that there is a less expensive option to purchase the QK unit on its own (about £95 from amazon in the UK).

Xencelabs don't currently have a "Large" Pen Tablet in their line-up. They do however have a 24 inch Pen Display and a 16 inch Pen Display. I also own the medium pen tablet bundle. As a former longtime Wacom user, I was unsure how the Xencelabs tablet would stack up. The Xencelabs products are absolutely premium in every way! The build quality and attention to detail is amazing. Everything thing that you could possibly need to quickly get up and running is included in the box. The high quality padded carry case in addition to including both a standard pen and a slim pen are thoughtful extras. The Quick Keys is useful on it's own even if you currently use a different brand of tablet or no tablet at all. It's easily programmable for other applications. I found that I often had driver issues with Wacom's products, but thankfully that hasn't been the case with Xencelabs. Tech support, should you need it is also first-rate. If you are accustomed to a premium tablet or pen display experience, Xencelabs will not disappoint.

Cool thing! One of the reasons I don't use my pen tablet a lot is because zooming just sucks.. I'm so used to using Ctrl+MouseScroll for that, that it's hard to change that habit.. (yes some tablets come with a little configurable scroll wheel but mine doesn't).. Looks like a useful little tool but a tad bit pricy. If you make money with drawing and designing it's probably a no-brainer though. Super useful

The sheep realize that they have been grazing for years in the wolf's meadow and now that he is showing his fangs, it's a stampede... But beware that the goat that owns the neighboring meadow is in fact a wolf in disguise (Canva bought Affinity in early 2024)... Otherwise, Corel has been in the creative industry as long as Adobe and has never abandoned the perpetual license model! A word to the wise... And for the younger ones who have never known anything other than the costly subscription model and would be anxious about the perpetual license, Darktable and Gimp offer both models: a free lifetime subscription or a free perpetual license including lifetime updates. What else?
