the bone is the best mid tier weapon if pair with artilery can help u alot with no issues.

I use the head and coil for element damage, then use Girros arms for Sneak Attack. I haven't done the math on it, but I feel like it's better than weakness exploit because it boosts shelling too

Ohhh that's an interesting build! I just find it hard to hit weak spots with the wyrmstake if im behind the monster. Hard to do the math now since mhn doesnt include artillery skill yet haha. Would love to try out sneak attack tho!

I saw a Japanese Video where a guy is running Girro Gun Lance and he killed a 10 Bassarios, so it's FOR SURE viable, I think he did get stuck on 10 Tobi-Kadachi, but it's insane as a support weapon it can drop that kinda damage... Looking forward to making it myself. This is his youtube user name: コトナリ it's exactly like you'd imagine but he does use Deviljo chest for the DPS, I have no idea how he driftmelds but you can imagine it's for damage / guts and heroics at his level...

My husband and I are new to the game and thinking about re starting to be able to farm more and because we made a lot of mistakes unknowingly. We typically battle together, so I'm thinking I'd do the paralysis sns, and he prefers the gunlance so he could focus on the builds in this video. My question is, in the very beginning, what armor should be start with, so he's not wasting materials but still has a good setup? Are there any other tips for us? We have only been playing 2 weeks, so it's not a huge loss to re start now. We just want to make smarter choices before we are any farther in. Thanks in advance!

@NextLevelSoulRising It's so great to see new players! Its always great to invest in armor pieces with elemental attack. For long type gunlances you might want to try out the girros vambraces for sneak attack to boost up your shelling damage. Basarios armor pieces are a must for gunlance so those are great investments as well. Hope this helps!

It's already been said, but Artillery doesn't boost Elemental Phial damage. As such, I don't feel like it's really worth using for CB, unless you use Raw + Impact vials (Diablos and Black Diablos). Too bad about losing the extra vial for elemental builds! Currently, I think Burst or Offensive Guard are better options.

Oh really? Artillery says it buffs phial attacks haha. Id have to test it myself.

I’m trying to get enough Daora tails to make 3 armor pieces to get the Kushala 25% ice attack buff. At least there’s still something good for ice sets including CB. Hopefully I can get an ice+1 skill buff Barioth braces. It is a bit of a shame that artillery only helps impact phials and not so much elemental, but that’s been consistent within the mainline series. As far as GL is concerned, I feel artillery is a must where you can apply it.

I still prefer my knockout cb build with pb and slug. Impact cb.s only though otherwise it doesn’t work to it full potential

Yeah I still enjoy partbreaker slugger with the charge blade! It's hard to fit in artillery in the build for now

stake does cutting damage and then a final shelling damage

I'm running blue Chariot (long GL) with Blue Rath Helm for Focus 2, Basarios Mail & Legs for Artillery, Basarios Coil 2 & Anja Vambraes for Fire Attack. Any suggestions here? Long GL is pretty boring, so don't copy my build xD you just load and shoot.

@@KikiKayami i suggest swapping the basarios waist and anja vambraces for sneak attack to boost you shelling damage from behind. Not unless your poking with the long gl haha

@@KikiKayami for long gunlances, yes. The main source of damage for long gl is charge shelling and shelling is not affected by element. But if you use poking attacks then element can help

Actually Bone Gunlance is the best since it's easier to upgrade. Long type charge shelling ignore enemy's defence, whether Kulu Rock, Barroth Mud, Basarios Rock-Head, and vs all weakness element monsters. One for all weapon imo.

The bone gunlance is certainly strong but it stil totally depends on your prefered playstyle. For me, i get bored when simply doing charge shelling haha!

I have a sneaking suspicion they’ll nerf the bone gunlance later on. There’s a built into design emphasis on making elemental sets to prepare for each season and to tackle higher level raids.

Bone GL is extremely strong ATM, especially if you were able to complete all the launch quests which were easy to fly through.

@@juanmedeiros4489 totally depends on your playstyle. Long is great for charge shots and wide is the best for wyrmstake shot and single shell damage. If you like a safe playstyle and keeping your ddistance then long is the best for you. If you like to use the wyrmstake shot for damage then the wide is the best

@@juanmedeiros4489 we have very limited options for wide so your only choices are khezu, barrioth and barroth. I do not suggest barroth. Go for the elemental wide gunlances :)
