These were all great ideas! I didn't know what to expect at first and really enjoyed seeing them emerge as a finished piece. I was wondering what tool you used at the very end (around 19:16) and what liquid you were putting on them as a topcoat? Thanks for the inspiration.

Just curious, why did you use the texture sheet with separate clay on it to add the dimension separately instead of just pressing it on the original clay. Did it give extra dimension than if it was pressed on?
@Sundiyday4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for good question! This technique is called Sutton Slice. You can discover a lot of information about this technique on the internet. I wanted to make a base with a striped texture and to add colors in first two ways and then add an ornaments on top.

These are so beautiful!!! Thanks so much for sharing your tutorial on this! I bought a few COLORS of polymer clay about 3 weeks ago. Specifically for making pendants and some earrings.... I love the rustic colors look! I do not have a pasta machine, yet, but I do have the flat and wavy cutters, a roller, some texture sheets, alcohol inks, patinas, shape cutters (all sizes). The main reason I've not done anything yet- I don't want to get "sticky" or "oily" clay all over my hands or "sticky" or "oily" clay all over working surfaces. DO POLYMER CLAYS have an ""Sticky" or "Oily" Texture/Feel to them??? Is there anything specific that I might NEED to do, if the polymer clays are STICKY?? If they are sticky, what do I need to do with them to make them "un-stick"? I know that I can use a light mist of water (with small water mister bottle, or a VERY FINE (almost none) cornstarch powder with a paint brush on the DRY MOULDS in the moulds or on texture sheets as a release agent.

Does anyone have any issues within new polymer clay bedding sticky or oily when you first use it?
@Littlewings12114 жыл бұрын
I don't find polymer clay to be sticky or oily but I don't have issues with texture lile that so maybe I wouldn't notice? Sometimes it can get sticky if it gets too warm, if your hands are very warm, if you're working with the same piece for a long time, if you live in a wa climate that can mean you need to limit how long you work with it. It can always be put in the fridge for a while to cool and harden up a little bit. Also you can just buy a box of latex/nitrile gloves from the Internet (the kind they use in hospitals) and wear those while you work if you really have bad sensory issues? I will say that my nephew is autistic and can have issues with getting messy like that and he had no problem at all with my polymer clay when I had a session of making stuff with him and his brother and sister. Hopefully this helps!
@DianeGraft4 жыл бұрын
I use Premo clay, and I don't have an issue with it sticking to my hands at all. As for your work surface, a good thing to do is to go to your local hardware store, and find the cheapest ceramic tile they have, usually white, and buy a large one to be your work surface. I also bought a couple of smaller ones to be my baking surfaces. It's really easy to clean, and I find that even UV resin will come off of it. The clay doesn't have a sticky/oily feel, but there are times when you want it to stick down to your work surface and not move while you are working on it. The tile surface works really well for that. Sometimes Premo will become a little soft as you work it, and if you are doing canes this can be an issue when you are ready to slice it. As Littlewings 85 said, you can put it in the fridge (or freezer) to firm it up for slicing, or let your cane sit for a few days if you are not in a hurry, and it will firm up. I understand that Fimo clay is firmer to work with, I don't know what brand you have. A hint, if you don't have mica powder or pastels yet, and are wanting those surface effects - eyeshadow works perfectly well on polymer clay too. Just make sure you seal the surface with some kind of varnish after baking, because any surface effect can rub off with use.

I am very thankful , Diane, for your help. I did't have time to answer and give to Janice the information. You did it just great!❤️🙏 Thank you to everyone for interest to my work and I very hope I can inspire many people . I find that polymer clay gives a lot of joy and happy feeling to work with and gives us a lot of passibility for creativity ❤️ Frase de Albert Einstein: " Creativity is intelligence having fun. "

Mi debbo ripetere? Sempre più brava!!! .
