BBQ Buns:
1 drained 5oz can of chicken
1/4 cup preferred BBQ sauce
A pinch of red pepper flakes if desired
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Mix and marinade ingredients covered overnight. The next day, add 1/4 cup chopped onion, 1/4 cup chopped green pepper, and BBQ chicken mixture to a small pot and heat until the onions start softening.
Buns (Basic Bread Recipe) -
1 cup warm water
2 and 1/2 tsp yeast
1 Tbs sugar (optional)
3 cups flour
1/4 cup Oil
1 tsp salt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Combine and knead ingredients until a smooth dough forms. Divide dough into 3 potions - 1 for each recipe. Take 1 portion of the dough and divide into 4 balls (or more if smaller buns are desired) and flatten each ball to about 1/2 inch thick. Place 2 Tbs of BBQ chicken mixture in the center of each bun and wrap the edges around pinching to seal. Place each bun seem side down on a parchment lined 9×13 baking sheet and let rise for 15 minutes. Then stick in preheated oven to par bake for 30 minutes or until dough springs back when you press it - should be golden brown in color.
