I adore found footage, even if the movie isn't perfect, I just love the style! Hell House LLC is one of just a few movies that scares the shit out of me, the clown mannequin scares me so bad I wanna cry and I watch A LOT of horror but something about it just terrifies me, I've seen the other sequels but I haven't seen Origins yet. I liked v/h/s 85 and I hope they keep making more but I didn't think it was as good as 1,2, and 94.

"Scared out of my mind and happy as a clam" is a joy particular to us horror lovers. I'm in the minority it seems in not liking the latest Hell House LLC. I felt with this one that Cognetti kept using the same two scares that worked most effectively in the first - the clown suddenly appearing/moving and the sudden appearance of a ghoulish dead girl - over and over and over. And that made it not scary anymore. I love found footage when it's done right.

I didn’t like Carmichael manor. I love the three previous movies but I didn’t last the last entry.

I was pretty torn on Carmichael Manor. Some of the 'slow scares' I thought were genuinely unnerving. The girl seeing the photos in real-time coming through the house and up behind her before the ghost appeared at her side I really liked. The hand on the wall from around the corner before the ghost showed up I thought was pretty creepy too. But the story just *really* didn't do it for me. It's like they wanted to do an original story but felt compelled that it had to attatch to the Abaddon Hotel so they were connected in just the laziest and most half assed way possible. In no way did it feel like the "Origins" of the hotel at all.

I dig found footage when executed well - some of the scariest stuff around!
