One of the greatest things in life is escaping the feeling of being overstimulated by our society. The peace and quiet leaves so much time for deep thought and contemplation, which leads to growth and healing without distractions. You are definitely wise beyond your years. And holy crap!! Imagine having the hydraulic platform at the back as somewhat of a deck, that folds up to protect your sliding door (hopefully one that opens completely, not just one that has a half sliding and the other one fixed), and then other panel that lifts up to make an awning above the deck. When both are folded, the truck looks stealth. When both are open, you get an amazing view. I want a box truck now... Damn you for putting ideas in my head! I'm really excited for your project. Keep being amazing!

Good luck on your adventure! But, must caution you: don't let your dog off leash in wilderness. There are coyotes that will make a snack out of him, simply grab and go. Also, rattle snakes and scorpions are a curiosity for a dog, and that may not end well. KEEP YOUR DOG ON A SHORT, CONTROLLABLE LEASH WHEN IN THE WILDERNESS, IT MAY SAVE HIS LIFE.

All right a baby bottle water pump and hwy 395. My favorite bug out place when living in the big city of LA. Mariah's highway 395 clothing line. Kool. So much room in that truck. Frame in the ceiling first with 4x8 insulation panels cut to 2x8ish. Then frame the walls with 2x2's and the same insulation. Skin it over with pine paneling. Keep the roll up door and put a 4-panel clear sliding door several inches forward of it in the back.

True. There are freaks and weirdos everywhere. Most predominantly in urban concrete environments. Someone that attractive will get attention anywhere. good for her to carry on and not stay cooking a meal for a husband in some "safe" suburban house cause she's too scared to leave.

If you watched earlier videos her pet peeve is people being concerned for her safety out there. I'm sure she if she has a safety plan she's never gonna share it publicly. Better to go live ur life to the fullest while your young than worry about small statistical chances of something bad ever happening. I left to travel iny 20s lotsa people cried about safety. I never got hurt once. More likely to get best up in your hometown bar than on the road.

@@justchill135 unfortunately , there have been many murders in campgrounds, on trails (including the Appalachian Trail), even National parks have had murders. I remember one serial killer stalked a trail, I think it was AT but can’t totally remember. Many people have reported being assaulted or followed by weirdos, and many many more have been victims of theft. Proportionally, definitely more in urban areas, but seems nowhere is really safe anymore. It’s like everyone has their heads in the sand. Doesn’t anyone watch true crime? Happens all the time! I grew up in a nice area and I know of several murders, some by strangers.

Something to consider is to put the sliding glass door just inside the roll-up. Then structurally make the roll-up door one piece with a hinge at the bottom attached to the box. You would always have a porch to relax on. It’s a little bit work, but could be worth it.

Hi Mariah, I just came across your channel (yay)! I’m going to look at a U-haul box truck in the morning 8/28/23 😅… I’m also a mother of 7 and agree with the previous comment to never leave your truck unlocked and or open when you and Fin go out. Please be safe out there. Your videos are definitely showing me I can do this! If you don’t mind would you consider explaining what you’re doing (steps to the construction of your build) in a bit more detail. You’re doing an amazing job! Thank you Mariah!🙏🏾

I'm in love with the American West. The Vast majestic mountains, the unique often times sparse vegetation, Expansive scenes that span as far as the eye can see, the solitude and being one with nature. You can literally lose yourself out there. It's beautiful country.

It is so relaxing watching someone make coffee when you are sitting back drinking the coffee already in your hand. I am planning to acclimate my darling Rosarita mutt now living in SD to winter at altitude this year. I think this video has given me a route. You sure know some beautiful places. As you revise your build plans keep that joy of openness in mind. Even a box that size can get crowded pretty quickly, though I say that as someone who travels with twice the humans and triple the weight of dog.

With all that room, what to do next? Maybe a hammock or a hammock chair to relax in. Keep the videos coming with all the updates. If you're ever near Cedar City, stop by or just wave as you roll by. Just enjoy the journey!

I just drove up 395 overnight from the 10th to the 11th of Oct. I kept seeing the same scenery I remembered in your video. Just a suggestion from an old man, but with colder weather coming, you might want to insulate to keep in as much of the heat as you can. Maybe to not lose any space inside, attach foam insulation sheets to the outside then cover with a weather resistant surface (sheet aluminum). Your videos are inspiring my thoughts for retirement living in a decade or 2.

Those sunrises and sunsets are tormenting us! Beautiful footage. I will never be able to travel solo due to family situations (mother/caretaker of adult children with special needs--no complaints tho!) But I get to enjoy it vicariously through you and other travel KZbinrs. Be safe and don't give out too many details about your location. Lots of crazies out there. Oh, BTW--the 2 things in your video that made me the happiest were watching you make coffee (I just love my morning coffee!) and saying you and your doggo just had the "fattest nap". I love me a good nap, lol.

Good for you for being brave enough to get out there by yourself. (Keep a means on your person to defend yourself, at all times and all hours - lots of cray-cray running the streets and outback areas nowadays) Have fun and think about an emergency exit in the floor in case of fire, or in case someone starts trying to smash your window out, or try's to pry your roll-up door open...

I just sold my box truck camper. Lived in it for 4 years and loved it. Went to a second hand store and spent $250 and screwed the furniture to the walls with L brackets. A propane camp stove on top of a tall dresser. I can't look hot water heater hanging on the wall. Made a shower with two bungee cords and shower curtains all the way across the truck and just push it all to one side and I had a pan with a hose I stuck it out the back door 2x2 set up in about a minute and a half. Put 400 watts of solar on the roof used ladders for mounts and truck cap clamps to attach it to the box truck roof. Guy sold me a recycle tiny Marine refrigerator for 50 bucks and I was on my way. The second hand store had one of those rollaway beds that was real good quality and I put it against the wall and made a shelf over top of it so at night I just pull it out flop it out and flop down. I lived in one city and I slept somewhere different every night. It was a blast.
