We are SO thankful the boys did not linger long in the foster care system, however it was a bit of a whiplash for us as they were only with us 9 days!
There is definitely a NEED in every state for foster parents. I hope this encourages you to take the first step to get licensed yourself or help a foster parent local to you :)

Awesome news that they were able to be with family. But what a blessing they were able to be loved and safe for that nine days in the meantime❤

I took in my first placement Nov 30th! I signed up for 0-5 age range, but said yes to my first foster daughter, aged 14 lol! She's been a joy. It'll be hard whenever she goes.

Oh wow! Don’t you love how you make plans and then something happens and you’re like “oh, ok, I guess this is the direction I’m going now!” 🤪 I’m glad it’s been good with the 14 year old. That’s a tough stage of life with so many changes regardless of foster care. So great you can provide her some stability right now ❤️

glad the issue was resolved so quickly sometimes crazy stuff happens i remember a coworker who told me how her son was put in foster care for 6 months at 16 because the school reported he was home alone while they were out of country. a teacher had act misunderstood something he said about a permission slip her daughter who was in her early 20s had been staying with him, but when dfacs had came by he was home alone and his sister had her own place at the time. they finally got him back but he spent 6 months in foster care all over a misunderstanding over a permission slip. he told his teacher his parents were out of the country but she seemed to not understand that his sister was staying with him. which i found funny because im the same age as her son and i stayed home alone for 2 weeks when i was 16 because my stepmom was in the hospital i was perfectly fine and least one my schools teachers knew i was alone because she was also my sunday school teacher but maybe she counted as checking on me cause she came by every evening and often times brought me dinner

@@HappyHoppe I found it really crazy I mean in my state your an adult at 17 and can marry with parents consent at 16 so I don't see y a 16 year old being alone for even a a few weeks as long as someone was checking on him be a big deal
