Pote ash Road😄 Man you are a comedian! It's potash....like what you get when your weed is spent!

Pot ash road- if you heat water on your stove you know what a pot is, if you watch people smoking cigarettes you know what ash is, so put those 2 words together. ("potash" is the old generic name for some potassium compounds, which they mine with water and precipitate out of the water in those drying beds to use to make fertilizer) There are a lot of areas around Moab that can provide free camping. If you spend some time on google maps satellite views you can find lots of them. If you find the ones with large trailers in them then that tells you about the roads to get there. The smaller places might have more challenging roads to get there including serious jeep trails. And what shows up as a road on the satellite images might be an OHV trail that even Jeeps have trouble with. I've found some good campsites away from other people by studying the maps but they were pretty far away from anything. BLM has built a lot of new campgrounds near the entrance of Kane Creek Canyon, just follow the road that turns off near McDonalds. It's an interesting drive in itself, it follows the river, goes past side canyons with hiking trails, goes into Kane Creek Canyon and if you have a sufficient vehicle you can even go over Hurrah Pass to Chicken Corners. I don't think the campgrounds are free but there are so many of them that they are unlikely to be full.

New Camper here. Once you've set tent for your spot, can you leave spot and not worry about stealing your spot or your set up tent? Or should you break down your tent when leaving? Will be visiting Arches NP in May Thanks

I would definitely pack up your spot when leaving. Can't really trust people. Arches is amazing though. Make sure you hike to delicate atrtch. It's on all the Utah licenses plates.

@@driftfastordie 😄What in the world are you talking about? Someone stealing your tent? Really? Take down whenever you want to go for a day trip or whatever? Is this place like dog eat dog or what? Have, in all vids I've watched never heard of such a thing, especially in a Nat. Park. Your advice is scaring people or what? I take it you are really joking.😄

Thanks for sharing this. Planning my trip now to the Moab area. Gonna try and snag a spot at one of these in the middle of the summer. Were all these spots good in for a mid 2010s forester?

Willow Springs is no longer free. It’s $15 per night now.

Well that kinda stinks. Well atleast it's only 15 bucks. That's not to bad considering your in Utah. An amazing place to be! Thanks for letting me and everyone know.

There are a few antelope and a few bighorn sheep around but somewhat uncommon to actually see them, and some of the big black ravens. Anything else would be small rodents.
