What's up guys,
In today's video we're going to review some 3 basic Collar Chokes that every BJJ White Belt should know from top & bottom!
This comes in response to a German viewer named Tina, who says:
"I'm new to Jiu-Jitsu and struggle with all the names of different submissions, especially the chokes..."
She was wondering if I had a video explaining the difference between the various chokes in the Gi.
Sadly, I did not have a video explaining this, but that's what today's video is for!
In this video we'll talk about the Cross-Collar choke, Loop Choke, and the Baseball Choke.
I'll also show you some different variations of these submissions, and a simple way you can apply them from both bottom and top position.
If you train BJJ and also find yourself forgetting the names of these chokes or are just curious about a few great basic chokes in the Gi, then I hope you found this video helpful.
Thanks for watching.

I know you said you would briefly explain things. I just want to comend the fact that even if it's brief you don't spare crucial details. Thank you, simple chokes with insane applications and transitions! Thank you Coach! Shout out to Tony as well!

It's the little details in these chokes that really make them work. I'll often times get the basic setup for these chokes but cannot get the tap because of little details lost along the way. Some folks say drilling is irrelevant, I find that with these chokes, drilling makes all the difference. Practice makes perfect.

Good video. I think the bow and arrow is also a very good submission for beginners because it gives an incentive to take the back and it's a very high percentage move.

Chewy, i dont have proper social medias to message you, but i hope that you will read my little paragraph, and perhaps respond. Thanks! Taylor I'm blue, I usually tap all the whites and alot of the blues, competitive with purples and get waxed by the browns/blacks, which i think is exactly as the skill gaps should line up...but, my gym is filthy and my coach seems to be lacking commitment. The mats always have hair/stuff on them. Coach will occasionally blow them off with electric leaf blower, he never mops them. He usually dips out early after instructionals when the class is rolling, and he'll have someone else lock up. He'll roll once or twice with us,(he is amazing too, demolishes me with ease), but then he will sit and tiktok/Instagram. I'm thinking he should be watching the rolls and actually coaching, giving tips and advice. I love the Gi, but he offers only 2 gi classes per week, and instructionals are usually pretry basic, and a bit repetitive over the years. Sometimes the classes are only a couple of guys, sometimes just me.I like my coach and the guys at the gym but im wondering if i should start looking for greener pastures. I just dont feel as fullfilled as i would like. What do you think?
