As a kid watching his show in real time, I swear Geraldine Jones became a real life larger than life personality and human. We saw this character as a real black Woman from the Black Hood Hustling Era of its time. Everybody Black knew a black hustling woman in the 70's when Geraldine was Huge. This made her an Icon. Unfortunately Flip Wilson got lost in Geraldine's dust because this character became a real person so the Masses. White people even loved this character and couldn't wait to see what she would say next. Geraldine Jones was not a trans woman. Flip played her as a heterosexual woman and his audience believed that because Flip Wilson was a genius and also looked damn good in those hip ass clothes and make up!! Real Talk.

Although I'm wildly opposed to men playing roles that should go to women, Mr. Flip Wilson brings a different view to it. I love "Ms" Geraldine Jones! She's such a "tough lady" role model. I love her so much! I just love the vibe Mr. Wilson brings to the role and character. Those of us who knew you really miss you Flip! RIP. Gone but never forgotten.

Yes indeed 😊, I remember it like it was yesterday. My siblings and I sat on the floor around the black and white television that had the rabbit ears antenna. If you wanted a clearer picture you would put some aluminum foil on the tip of the antenna. Those were the days 😄😁.

I forgot how funny this show was. I was just a kid when it was on but I never missed it. The Flip Wilson show was the funniest show on TV. I like how the stars went along with the Geraldine shtick. It was hilarious. Flip was the best and wrote all his material. They couldn’t put this show on TV today. It would be censored and some cry baby would get offended. Back in the 70’s people had a tougher skin and liked joking around as long as everyone was in on it. Flip had all the big name stars on his show, Bing Crosby, Redd Foxx, Harry Belafonte. I would of loved to see Frank Sinatra in a sketch with Geraldine! Bing Crosby did one and Bing was a good sport. If they put this show on TV today, it would get top ratings and the funny thing is, all these great stars are gone. Remember the Flip Wilson doll. One side was Flip and the other side was Geraldine. I had one. You might find one on EBay if they still around. You pull the string and Geraldine says something funny.
