That’s the thing about West Virginia. Mountaineer football is to many, many people the entire identity of the state. People want to see toughness and dedication. They don’t want to see a defense folding up like a cheap beach tent on a windy day. And no less doing this at home. They’re a miracle comeback against Kansas from not having a home win against a FBS school.

Geesh! Stats mean absolutely nothing. Anyone watching the game could see … Baylor was just running simple plays and getting 7,8,9 or more yards. WVU was getting some good yardage but it was a struggle.

Brad just doesn’t get it. He’s like an alchemist trying to turn lead into gold with his astrology like fascination with stats. Like Steve Spurrier said, “Stats are for losers and assistant coaches.” For instance, the whole how many 10 yard runs there were. Yes, it is a good stat if a team puts up a lot of 10+ yard runs because typically it indicates how well the line is blocking and getting to the second level, clearing lanes for the RBs. It is a not a good stat to apply when the numbers are simply the QB abandoning the play and running where all the coverage is 20 yards downfield and thus the QB is simply running in open territory. He fails to see the correlation between the numbers and reason for the numbers. This is why you get the weekly refrain “had you told me x I would have told you we win!” If I had a nickel every time I heard this on this show. Plus his Swiftie like fascination with GG is beyond weird.

"If you told me WVU would have had 227 yards in the game, that's all I'd need to hear, we win." That's why an emphasis on analytics doesn't work. Exoerience, emotion, good instinct, and a gut feel for the game are critical. Coach Brown and this show place too much weight on analytics.

A few points. Tavon Austin wasn't some amazing player before he came to wvu. we made him. that's coaching. NB can't do that. More Better Players (MBP)...give NB all the MBP you want and he still wouldn't punch above his weight. There are programs doing more with less. Period. Moreover, you are dealing with young players that haven't become finished products. How many supposed 5 stars turn into duds? How many 3 stars go pro? Furthermore, Tony wasn't talking about this team in pre-season fighting for bowl eligibility at best. The talk was a conference title. If all that matters is NIL money, why didn't all 3 guys before the joke say WVU would be nothing but a 3rd tier Big 12 team? What a pathetic joke of an excuse for NB's failures. The guy isn't good enough. All this NIL talk. First off, the Baylor "backup" on 700k was a benched starter, not a back up. Secondly, WVU is paying our LT 950k which is a amongst the highest in the Big 12. Number 11 (jackson is in top 25 big 12) and so is another OL. get out of here with this lame ass bs excuse game. This is now known as the 3 Lame Ass Excuses Before and After the Game!

You say "absolutely not" in consideration of joining a lower tier. Agree with Joe Paterno that WV needs better players to beat Penn State. Good luck mining the revenue base for that level of NIL for WV. At the end of the day, the university can't afford it, fans can't afford it, alumni can't afford it. Seems folks would be happy with more wins, singing Country Roads, traveling to nearby schools for games.....

OK….I watched this whole episode before commenting. I love 3 Guys. But to ignore the biggest story, the growing fan apathy, only increases that apathy. And that makes me less interested in 3 Guys. WVU is in the bottom half of NIL at this time. Fans are less and less interested. Ignoring the apathy creates more apathy and more apathy is less NIL money. WVU Football…….going nowhere fast. 3Guys…..fastly becoming more and more of a joke.

Week after week, people running wide open down the field!! It drives me nuts watching our guys stand and watch the guy catch it, and then try to tackle them... The emphasis being on the word try, because they fail to do so time and time again!! Dropped passes at the worst times (though a drop at anytime sucks ass), questionable play calling all game long, it seems like Brown gets down close to the goal he tries to hard to be creative and sneaky instead of just continuing to do what was working, and though I love GG and the enthusiasm and heart he plays with, I have no doubt he loves WVU, but I wish he would throw at the receivers hands instead of their feet... Especially in a 3rd or 4th down situation!! Several times a game we have a tight end, running back, or wide receiver open and at or beyond the sticks, and the ball hits em in the ankles... I know it's easy to say these things setting at home, but it's every game this stuff happens!! When we throw it out to the back or whoever on a screen pass, we lose 10 yrds, the opponent seems to get a first down or TD on those plays... Maybe that's why Brown thinks they will work, idk, but they rarely do!! It broke my heart to see Ray get injured like that!!! I can only imagine how the team felt because he is our biggest down field threat, I love Huddy Tuddy, but Ray gets open more often, but after that injury it seemed to take the life outa the team! Just a bad weekend all around for our men's sports teams!!! Maybe the soccer team can get a win.. idk man, just really frustrating as a diehard Mountaineers fan!! I love the Cowboys, and have since I can remember! Some of my fondest memories of my dad are watching the Cowboys win 3 Super Bowls I'm the 90's!! He loved them, so I loved them! And it sucks ass that they are playing like crap even before all their injuries... But when the Mountaineers lose, it's hurts my soul, lol, it completely bums me out!! And unfortunately, it seems like I have been bummed out since Brown has taken over!! Though I am not a Dana guy either! Idk man, I guess I will just hope they win the last 2! 😐

As long as Brown is here we will never get a great field goal kicker... Hell, the guy we have now is pretty good, but you would never know it because I'm not sure Brown knows that it's legal to kick a field goal during a game!! I know a TD is better, but what's even better than that is getting points after a turnover, or a long drive instead of throwing as pass that hits the guy in the shoes on 4th down and turning it over on downs 4 times a game or whatever

Tony said that Baylor’s backup QB (who didn’t make the trip) is making over $700k. Baylor’s NIL is around $7 million. That’s 10% of their NIL. That sounds like a waste of money for a backup that didn’t play. To put that into a prospective, they could only pay 9 more players that salary.

Pitt was hot early and we couldn't hit a shot. I will say we had wide open looks. The offense is efficient on getting good looks they just need to knock them down. The bball team will be ok.

Future possible topic: NIL, Can WVU compete with current peer programs or tier ones? Affordability? Level of support (unlike a Notre Dame, Texas, Texas A&M, Ok State, Michigan, etc. NIL is not transparent. So..... should WVU revert to being a big fish in a small pond again, i.e. SunBelt Conference. Do fans just want wins, realistically knowing that a Natty is certainly out of reach now? Would this enable fans to travel to closer games?
