When I was a child I used to spend hours leafing through the pages of an old pharmacopoeia, a practice which allowed me to enter a trance-like state. This video reminded me of it. I wonder if kids do the same nowadays. Scrolling on a screen is definitely not the same.

Always found the sound of turning pages deeply relaxing. Nothing more comforting by listening to it. Associated by both younger years seeking adventure in comic books, and later years seeking knowledge in libraries, both quiet places. This hits all the right sensors, great video and audio!

Looks like an old encyclopaedic dictionary with thumb index. Before the Internet, these things used to be the "go to" reference in any household...an encyclopaedic dictionary and a great atlas. Wealthier people could afford the full Britannica.
