Yes, but it's worth it. Instead of concrete, later I learned it was better to use black sand. I now paint my driveway every year in spring. It looks really nice and it isn't too hard or time consuming.

I find your approach very interesting and creative. I can add black concrete dye to the concrete you put down (or any new concrete you add to driveway). That will give you a black color that should last. Latex driveway sealer doesn't tend to stay on concrete well.

Can you share what specific concrete products you used please? I saw an epoxy product there.
