00:00 - 03:40 - Introduction and specs
03:41 - 05:50 - 6mm rods and 2mm steel
05:51 - 07:24 - square steel tube, PVC pipe and wood cuts
07:25 - 09:10 - PROPER Industry non-standard TEST (I feel it should be standard from now on) 10MM rods Steel / Brass / Aluminium / Titanium /
09:11 - Test results and final words.
Since one of them can actually cut through some titanium it should have no problem cutting through an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max. Please see the name of the channel and you will understand why I can't try cutting through an actual iPhone.
In this video:
- Parkside PWSA 12 C2 76mm mini grinder
- Aliexpress brushless 3 inch angle grinder (More of a cut out tool than a cut off tool. I wish I was joking.)
- cutting discs
- grinding discs
- carbide cutting discs
+ Non industry standard 10mm rod test with some interesting results.

Спасибо! Parkside достаточно хорош, но Aliexpress очень плох. Он легко останавливается или занимает слишком много времени. Это просто не стоит своих денег.

I have the B1 version from Parkside. While the button isn't easy to operate, it does stay engaged when you push it all the way to the front. It's such a nice and cheap tool when you buy it on sale, I ended up buying a second one so I don't have to switch the disc for cutting/grinding. I would recommend the 4/5Ah battery for heavy use though.

It is a very good tool for the price! I decided to use the 2Ah battery so the Aliexpress one had a chance. Even that could not help it in the end 😅

@@BrokeLifeEU Is it normal for the version you used to require a permanent button press? I wouldn't be surprised if your one just needs a bit more force than usual or is just broken. Parkside can be hit or miss.

@MartinPellengahr I thought it was falty at first too, but after looking in to it is just how the C2 version is. It is good for short bursts if use, but for prolonged use I do not like it.

the 3 inch grinder from parkside, 1st gen I believe - PWSA 12-Li A1 is the one to go for. I had it for many years now. Similar to the first few what I can now only suspect 1st gen 12V Team tools, it's like a direct copy of the bosch 12V (12V-76) professional range. Have these models sit in the sun, and the plastic discoloration goes from Parkside green to bosch professional blue-green too. They also made a little jigsaw 12V series, one of the first gens, that's same sort of bosch look-alike and solid. Some of the other 12v tools are a massive letdown. They very hit and miss. Even their 20V tools ,as you discovered with the multi tool, can actually be a downgrade.
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 24 күн бұрын
I would go so far as to say that the 12V range is like that. Hit and miss. Either the tool is very nice or not thought out at all. The trigger on the grinder in the video ruins it entirely for me. That brings on the other point with Parkside, mainly that a new tool does not always mean an improvement. I thought it was something of a rule by now for newer to mean worse. However if you have seen my newest video I was pleasantly surprised with their new flathead grinder and brushless drill.
@18bagabooo

@@BrokeLifeEU well said - here new doesn’t always mean better. Hit and miss probably because they constantly change suppliers in order to keep their target sale and profit margins. My 3” grinder is getting to the point i was thinking to replace it with the newer one, as on paper newer has more rpm, but damn, that button thing is a real deal breaker. By the way, this first gen grinder i have, fell off my roof once, head detached from body, ripping cables out too from motor solder points🤣 - went back together like a proper tool should do. Still works.

True, it would not be hard to do, but the other models have a normal button so I would go with one of them if I need a 12V parkside grinder. This actually is quite nice for short bursts of cutting but quite unpleasant for prolonged use.

Nice testing! The only hope for the aliexpress one is that it may be slightly better once you get 5+ charge-discharge cycles on the batteries, lithium ion batteries don't perform well when brand new. Pretty shocking how quickly it died at the start all the same! Also I checked my parkside PWSA 12 B1 unit, it does have a locking rocker switch on the side where your thumb sits, no idea why they changed it
@BrokeLifeEU

Thank you so much!!! I could not get through the filming with just the two batteries that came with the Aliexpress grinder. I used two more that have up to 10 cycles on them. And it made no real difference. So the weak link is everything in this case 🤣

@@BrokeLifeEU I have a number of tools from there but it's mostly crimpers along with some wrenches, socket adapters and stuff like that that's unlikely to see much abuse. Great savings there. The right angle impact is kindof a specialist tool too and can be used as a (chunky) cordless ratchet if it does end up being crap, so there's still hope 😆

I would still prefer it work as a right angle impact 😆 with the non power tools as long as you are careful there are some great deals, with the power tools you never know. Probably Onevan and Gisam for now are worth their money if on sale, but the batteries are still a shot in the dark.

Although I wonder given how much trouble you had with the included batteries, are those the bottleneck? Maybe hook it directly up to a fully charged car battery and see if it works any better.

It would be worth a go but as the cables inside are so thin I don’t think the local firefighter brigade will appreciate the test. As with the Gisam impact I tried to improve in another video I think this is the maximum one can hope for from this tool without overloading it one way or another.

Good point, the rest of the tool probably isn't built for quality anyway, using a bigger battery just move the weak link to somewhere else.
@xani666
@xani666 5 ай бұрын
Well, $2 is about as much electronic as you need to control small brushless motor. And motor being brushless don't automatically means it will be more powerful, just a bit more efficient. The big tool brands got us used to equate brushless = more powerful but that's false equivalency, the more expensive brushless tools of big brands just use more powerful motors.

Yes, the easiest to find anywhere would be the 125mm I think. The 76mm are still not as popular of a size. To be fair if I had to have only one grinder I would go for a medium size one as well, hence the popularity of 125mm discs.

That Parkside 12v is meh , 20V is mmmm nice and rly strong (that cheap blue one works way better after battery upgrade to stronger cells yet still lack power) and try Cubitron II blades for it , look for 75 x1x9,53mm ... you cant get 76mm one only 75mm , they last in my case 8-12x longer and cut way faster in my opinion

I don't even see the reason for it. 125mm ones are compact enough and if you really need to cut things that small that the 125mm ones are too big, you might as well just use dremel
@BrokeLifeEU
@BrokeLifeEU 5 ай бұрын
Well I have had to cut some hardened bolts and a dremel type tool just won‘t do it or will take too long. The normal size grinder did it no problem at all but it is too heavy to hold right for that small of a cut. So for some situations a 3 incher is the right size.
