Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy how this is filmed. I like the tone and volume of your voice, it’s really relaxing and I like that you can hear the noise of the cooking instead of music. (:

Thank you for saying that! I really appreciate it. I had some problems with my first two videos because my voice is so soft and people had difficulty hearing me. Unfortunately, those are turning out to be popular videos. :/ Now I just do voiceovers and I think it's better. Thanks for the feedback and for watching!

I've found that brown rice freezes beautifully. So does white rice. I make a big batch and freeze in portions...the key is to add a bit of water: not much, when you defrost it which hydrates it and make it fluffy. You can thaw on the counter, put it in your fridge the day before, or if you wait til the last minute, microwave it briefly with that bit of water I mentioned, then prepare and serve as desired. You can save a ton of money doing this and you've always got rice at short notice.

I discovered freezing rice recently myself and agree it is definitely a game changer. It's so convenient. I like the idea of adding a little extra water to help it be fluffier. Thanks for sharing! 😁

I have never been to a Trader Joe's. I was really interested in how you cooked your Gnocchi. The instructions I had were to drop it in rapidly boiling water and when it floated to the top, it was ready to eat. Going to have to try frying it. Also, I have purchased the regular Gnocchi at Dollar Tree. Such good ideas! Thank you, Michelle!

Hi Margee 😁 I believe that the gnocchi in their frozen meals is already precooked. I've been looking for that gnocchi from Dollar Tree lately but it hasn't been there. Trader Joes is so awesome. I hope you can get to one soon!

I loved the idea of putting the dressing in a squeeze bottle. To me, there is too much dressing in those packets for the amount of greens you receive. So I always have this leftover amount of dressing that spills. Thanks to you I now know what to do. Plus I prefer a creamier dressing.

Hi KJ 😁 Those squeeze bottles work for so many different things too. I also bought some at Daiso recently that are smaller. They were super cheap!

Love love love Trader Joe’s produce selection (they have veggies I’ve never seen anywhere else) but I don’t love the prices 😢 so I was really impressed you managed to make any budget meals from them 👏❤️👍🙌 great job. Way to go

Hi Mimi 😁 Glad you liked this. Trader Joe's is my guilty pleasure. I try to stay out of that store as much as possible because I always spend too much when I go there. 😂 I put it under the Entertainment / Food category of my budget. 😂

I don't even like fish tacos, but those looked amazing haha! I would just use chicken, but will def have to try this recipe!!! I love the TJ Cauli gnocchi with butter, lemon, parm and arugula!!! If you have a Costco card or can go with someone that does....their Kirkland brand EVOO is the best dang bang for your buck at around $11 for a HUGE container! It's one of the only EVOO's that were tested to be actual 100% olive oil too where 80% percent of "olive oils" out their on the market are laced/blended with cruddy oils like Canola or are rancid olives!! Small bottle at a grocery store for like 7-8 bucks and not knowing the quality or a giant container prob more than triple the size for around 11 bucks!

I haven't tried the TJ Cauli with gnocchi, butter, lemon, parm and arugula! I'll be looking for it on my next trip! My SamsClub membership is expiring at the end of the month and I'm going to be getting a Costco membership, so thanks for the tip about the EVOO. I use it everyday and will definitely pick some up at Costco. 👍

Most of the Trader Joe's olive oils are also extremely good quality and also very affordable, especially compared to standard grocery store options. Olive oil has a pretty short shelf life, so unless you have a large family, the Kirkland oil will probably go bad before it can all be used. I like to think of Trader Joe's as a great store for single people and couples to shop at, because you can pay close to club store prices (Talking about $ per oz of product) for smaller size products. TJ's Organic Spanish olive oil is $0.35/oz, the Kirkland is $0.20/oz, but if you're not going to be able to use all of the larger product in time, then the savings are negligible.
@breanamiles81082 жыл бұрын
@@misacruzader They do have some great options! If you look at a lot of their products they have canola, soybean or vegetable oils. I mean none of their hummus has olive oil! Like what ha! Most of their salad dressings that say they have olive oil have a crappy oil as the first ingredient before olive oil. Natural flavors are in pretty much everything. Don't get me wrong- I love TJ's and many of their products, but you really gotta check the labels to make sure you know what you're getting!
@misacruzader2 жыл бұрын
@@breanamiles8108 Ah, see these are things I don't worry too much about. At my budget, I'm just grateful for the privilege to shop at Trader Joe's once in a while! I definitely favor quality, but processed foods aren't expected to be pure. If I want hummus, I make it myself with whole chickpeas, tahini, and good olive oil. Who buys store bought hummus when it's so easy to make, costs less, and tastes better homemade??
