I started treatment for LTBI but had to stop after 20 days because I got anaphylactic reactions and had increased liver enzymes. Now that enzymes went down already, I will be shift to INH monotherapy but want to not proceed anymore. What are the chances to have antibiotic resistance and risks of not proceeding?

i started treatment for nearly 8 months and my hospital just rang me saying that the blood drawn a few days ago shown that my Liver enzymes is very high and they asked me to stop isoniazid right now and visit hospital two weeks later for follow up. i wonder if 8 months treatment is enough to kill all TB gems in my body or not? will i develop super TB in the future?

Sorry to hear that you’ve had these issues, and glad that you are getting support and follow up from your medical team. Different programs around the world do recommend between 6-9 months of treatment, which are both considered appropriate according to the World Health Organization and have very low risk of drug resistance. We can’t comment on your personal situation, but hope you recover soon and suggest talking with your doctor about whether you may have already had enough treatment to stop.
