Same. It's kind of their usual job and could help people relate more to some of their designs (the worse is the shopping list feeling of "this piece is by that person and that one by this artist"...). And maybe see what they would come up if they had to do the same space twice but with different restrictions.

There's an embedded offensiveness to ripping out all the walls and throwing them away, filling landfills because they can't figure out a way to use what is there and make it better. Two of them figured out how to use the paneling, the other didn't know how so she threw it away. Give them a blank room with a cement floor and let them do what they want, because that is usually what the do anyway. When a designer has boundaries given to them, I think we see real creativity. It could be as simple as "you can't remove the paneling nor the fireplace. Go!"

That mirror ceiling with the amazing geometric ceiling made the room feel so much bigger! But the end result feels sparse, as cool as the art pieces are, and as glad as I am that the details were respected, they don’t seem particularly integrated. Noz is just so charming. I might not agree with all her choices but in the end the room did feel balanced and proportional and both charming and cozy as well as conversational and interesting. I think as much as it’s totally not my personal taste, the layout feels the most balanced and purposeful of a “hosting” space without being gimmicky (like a game room is). It’s wacky, for sure, but it feels cozy in its own way. I think the floral yet polished inlay and alabaster and brass details are what really brought it together. Granted, I didn’t personally like any of the designs. Taste wise. But I can still appreciate what they’ve done within the context of their vision.

I often like what Noz does until the last 20% she adds, which always seems to unbalance/overclutter the space in my opinion. But I was surprised this time at how cohesive the final room looked. There were still a few points that I felt made it just a bit too unitdy for me, and I thought the dark green brooding armchairs in the back did not belong at all, but this may be one of the only Noz spaces I would be willing to spend any length of time in, haha!

So glad i'm not the only one upset that she said the FIRST THING that comes to her mind is "demo". Like...are you kidding? Where is your appreciation for history and art? Don't you feel some responsibility as an interior designer to preserve these classically beautiful interiors and artisanal design elements? It's these kinds of attitudes that are the result of greediness and ignorance. It's the reason why we have all these ugly black and white cube-shaped houses popping up where beautiful classic mid-century homes used to be. There are literally MILLIONS of homes and apartments with boring, plain, white-walled rooms just waiting for a makeover, so why destroy a unique and precious find like this? Just WHY???

Of these three, Kat's is my favorite. I actually really like the carpet, I think it's so fun and whimsical, and I love what she did with the colors of the wall and even the fireplace. I personally would never put mirrors on the ceiling- just not my thing at all- and I would go more traditional with the furniture/lighting fixtures/decor, but I really liked the direction she was going in. Noz was, as usual, extremely creative and full of personality, even if it's not the style I would personally choose for the room. But I'll be honest, the moment Hema said she'd just demo the entire room, I started skipping all her parts. 😂

Attn- Architectural Digest, for a couple of years House Beautiful did "Doll House Beautiful". This was a segment where they gave 6 designers the exact same miniature doll house and each designed it the way she wanted. They were given 6 or 7 hours on a certain to complete the doll house and explain their design. I would love for Architectural Digest to do that same concept also. They have not done it in a while and I really miss it and I truly enjoyed it. You could have these same 3 designers decorate and design the same miniature house. Give them a month to gather their materials, and a day to decorate it. At the end of the day they would have to explain their design. I would love to see that on Architectural Digest!!!

Hmm. I really liked Noz's design. She did keep the panel designs and modernized it. Only thing I would have edited out was the two green chairs at the back.. but wow.

I'd love to see a similar series with 3 architects who are given a location/plot of land and a general brief with some conditions, and then then see how they'd each design a house/space for that environment in their own style.

I like the pre-redesigned rendering. Remove the odd pillars in front of the fireplace, replace the mirror with a TV, and place a somewhat compact couch where the end table is, that's it. Keep everything else

I absolutely LOVE, ADORE Hema's room! I want my entire house like that! Noz lost me for a second, but as always the result never dissapoints, it's really fun. Kat's room couldn't convince me, it feels very museum-like, it's not really coming together for me even though I like the individual choices.

I like a few elements of each room, but I don't really care for any of them. For example, I like the concept of the first room, and I like the inset bookcases for games. I also like the inset ceiling. I like the ceiling lights in the second room, and I like the idea of a sectional, just not that one. The third room is the one I like the most out of all the three, but I still don't really care for the over all room. I LOVE the new parquet floor, the fact that she kept the original walls and painted them, and I LOVE that she kept the original fireplace. That's about it for all three rooms.
