The Motorcycle comment... I didnt understand this until I was older. I was talking to my father, big motorcycle guy.. He has taken me out on them multiple times.. I had moved out, in my mid 20s.. and was on the phone with him and said "I think I want to get a motorcycle. It would just be so much easier to get to work and back, take up less gas." And so on.. And my father, a few states away said "Absolutely not." I questioned him why.. and it boiled down to.. HE trusted himself on a motorcycle with me, because he was safe.. I was his world and he was in control and made sure everything happened in the most safe way for me. A boy wouldnt care, wouldnt have the knowledge, the know how, the fear... and I didnt have the experience, and didnt yet understand how other people on the road are such a hazard.. He was afraid for me.. because it was a control of safety issue.. and a motorcycle is by far the most dangerous way to travel. I understood his point of view, and never got one.. I have a park ranger friend now.. who 'supervises' motorcycle rallys.. and always talks about "well, this death happened today." He talks about the fun points sure.. but there are a lot of stupid deaths... Thank you Dad for just.. still being strict and thinking about my safety, even after I leave the nest.

The best part is your inner child gets to play with your children, and it's so much fun and healthy for all of us!

My mum played a joke on me when i was abput 7 and hinted i was adopted. i was devastated and for a long time I thought it was true 😢 How anyone would think thats funny defeats ne 😡

Agree. My dad teased me intermittently for years. Finally, age 16, I demanded that Mom show me my birth certificate. The teasing stopped. I should have asked sooner.

PS my older sister had her version of my adoption, “you’re from Mars and we’re going to send you back there if you don’t behave!” At the time I was devastated, only around 6. Later it is a funny memory. Just a story too far. 🤭

I also failed to find the humor in his "prank." Sounds cruel to me.

Oh boohoo y’all are boring. It’s lighthearted. My mom used to try to tell me I was adopted and I would just say, “Unfortunately I’ve seen the pictures of me literally being born.”

@@parryyotter, bright of you. Imagine you are younger. Photos taken at the birth wasn't particularly common long ago. No need to be disparaging of others feelings, tho.

My eldest son told his kindergarten class that his daddy and Mommy "stole cars" for a living. That was our first (of many) summoning to the school. No, son. We repossess cars for a living. Big difference!

When my mum used to complain about having no money, i always told her to go to the bank. I didn't understand that you have to have your own money in the bank to be able to have money. To me the bank was building with money and thats where people go to retrieve money 😂
