@@aichohvee I don't think that's what she does, I mean as a designer you see a piece and you absolutely fall for it and you design the entire room around that one piece. For Noz that one piece was the chandelier, which came quite late in the video making us wonder what the hell is she up to. But after that piece everything made sense to me. The creative process isn't really like what it's shown in these videos, so you just gotta trust where it takes you and focus more on the end.
@antonettepatagan6507

@@aichohvee I totally agree. She obviously has one goal which is to promote people and pieces. Nothing wrong with it. But it's overly done. I mean c'mon a table in the middle? who needs a table in a foyer that is so inconvenient. You expect an open space to welcome guests not a themed park with a random table in the middle. But then again they were told they could do whatever they wanted with space. props to them for that

I love this series! Ericks entry was thoughtful, beautiful and had a quiet elegance to it. As usual, Noz is out there, creative but not functional. I guess in mermaid world, they don't take luggage when they stay at a B&B so a table blocking the flow in an entryway doesn't matter. Mandy's is too brown, a snoozefest. She said it was sad before, well it still looked sad, only now it's sad and brown. She needed to add some lighter elements to the space and sticking a plant in the corner is not enough.

European here. We leave our coats and shoes in the hallway/foyer so the fact that the designers do not immediately start with "you gotta put your stuff away when you arrive" really says a lot about differences in the "shoes in the house" thing.
@AskMiko
@AskMiko Жыл бұрын
Most ethnic groups in the US don’t wear shoes in the house… I know TV shows and films show this a lot but feels like a Caucasian thing more than an American thing (sorry not sorry). With this demographic dominating the TV and film spaces, these themes carryover while other groups either don’t show coats being removed in their content and seldom ever show outside shoes on the sofa or bed. Plus European spaces are way smaller than American spaces. Most Americans have two or three doors to enter a home and seldom use the front door as the primary entrance into the home hence the putting stuff away occurs in a different space (side door or back door).

@AskMiko- You know what else isn't shown on tv shows? People washing their hands when they come home or before sitting down to dinner. But I am certain the majority of people IRL actually DO that and more 'Caucasians' than you think DO remove their shoes. How easily some people dole out the racist tropes concerning white people.
@rebmosher5512
@rebmosher5512 Жыл бұрын
Doesn't necessarily say any such thing. We don't have a closet immediately adjacent to our entry,we take shoes and jackets off there and carry them to the coat closet which is in the next room. And then when we are leaving the house we get them.from the closet and carry them to the door and proceed to put them on. American tv shows and movies are not something upon which you should base your entire view of the life of 'typical' Americans. Not even the news is indicative of that.

Mandy's gave me the best feels, but is missing a little table action for me... Erick's foyer checks all the boxes and is the most practical. I just find his outside view is always some random field with no real access, like, your front door wouldn't open onto a field but rather a street or a pathway or something 😅

Erick's design: practical, lovely, balanced. Mandy's design: practical, stately, but needs a bit more color. Noz's design: impractical, eccentric, too focused on named/famous brands To me, Erick is the Winner.

I appreciate her eccentricity. I don't hear her focusing on name brands so much as honoring the amazing creatives that she collaborates with by name, which is a beautiful and generous thing to do.

Apart from my safety concerns about having a full glass door and the lack of any change to the boring side door I love Erick’s the most.

Would be fun to visit Noz's B&B - love the gold wall drip but I'd prefer it in a different room if it were a residential home. Mandy's version reminds me of grandparents - my mom would love it. I think Erick wins this one. I wasn't sold on the wall mural at first but it goes well with the overall look.

I liked mandi’s design it is cohesive,stylized and elegant, noz was very artist but not functional a flow is important for the inhabitants of the house like imagine u r in hurry you will be too pissed by any physical obstacles. Id love to see this type of design in private space like a bedroom or studio. Eric’s was good but I didn’t like his wallpaper of choice

I literally had to pause the video to go find the fixtures Noz used by Lindsey Adelman, I LOVE them! There was something in ALL three I like. That wallpaper Erick used was fabulous! Mandy's space felt like a hug. This series is GRAND!

I’m thinking about how annoying that entry table is in Noz’s design if you were in a rush or had a lot of things to bring into the house 😂 edit: Erick’s was my favourite

Love Noze's design 😍, it would be mine. Mandy's design is something that reminds me of my grandparents home. Erick design is something like one of your male cousin would choose and he's always nowhere out to be found, but sometimes show up in the family gathering whenever he feels it.

Honestly I adore Noz's aesthetic. Like it's maximalism at it's finest with a dash of surreal and pop art, but I am not sure about the practicality of it. There's some things you need to have on a foyer and a singular table in the middle of the corridor isn't really what I'd think. With that said, her creations are always so much fun. I do also love Erick's earthy minimalism. His designs are always very grounded and natural.

Ok... Where to begin (this is my opinion, on my taste. All designers throughout the series are amazing in their own way🥰) Noz, loving adding the "mystery door". By mirroring the hardware, it does open up the space and adds a talking point. Mandy, love the ceiling and the front door. Erick, the bench is DIVINE 💙💙💙💙💙. I love your concept and where this entryway would be, but the wall design and fully glassed door, don't quite work for me. Please keep this series going. Love seeing others ideas and inspiration is a joy 👍🏾🇬🇧💙

Erick's is definitely my favourite. Personally, I think Noz jumps the shark sometimes in her designs, but I appreciate her creative approach. I think the light fixture would've been amazing in a place with higher ceilings - together with the table, I'm kind of thinking I'd bump into something every time I try to pass through there.
