3 Kids Die in Knife Attack at Taylor Swift-Themed Dance Party

Flowers line the street where at least three children have died at a Taylor Swift dance party in Great Britain. Police say they were stabbed to death. At least nine other kids were hurt, as well as at least two adults trying to protect them. Police say a 17-year-old is responsible for the knife attack in Southport. "The investigation is in its early stages and the motivation for the incidents remains unclear," said Merseyside Chief Constable Serena Kennedy.

The UK does have 'whole life tariffs' for certain crimes, not sure if this one qualifies. It should, of course, given the nature of the attack and age of the victims but I think the law may not see it quite that way. I'm sure he will claim mitigating mental health factors as part of the defense. However, even with a good lawyer, he is very likely to be facing the prospect of spending most of the rest of his life in prison or institutionalized...and you know other prisoners don't look at child killers very favorably.
