This is the best instruction I have ever seen. All of the other online instructors I've watched have talked about rotating the hips. I have struggled mightily to try coordinate the upper and lower body in my backswing and then the follow through. This is so much easier. Thank you very much Alex!

As an ex instructor (RAF), I learnt that different people learn in different ways. What I love about your videos is the fact that you explain the FEEL. For me, so important. You have to have that FEEL....maybe not suit everyone, but it certainly helps me... thanks pal.

I really appreciate your feedback. Thank you kindly and yes... I try and lead people to learning and awareness of what they need to do. My feels may be different but I can nudge in the right direction so one can progress

I'm 52 20 years of swinging the over the top swing. Dozens of videos none ever helped. Watched this the night before a round. Didn't intend on making changes during a round but it was a bad start so I put the moves into play and wow distance accuracy immediately started to improve. I love your channel it's so simple to understand and implement the tech you are teaching! Huge thumbs up and huge thanks!

The 2nd step, the "sit down" really works! I've had this lazy swing with a weak fade for years. When I gave this a try, I got much stronger contact. IDK if I'm really sitting down but the effort helps me focus on what's right in front of me instead of arms. Ball goes farther and straighter. Now it is just about my only swing thought. Thank you.

I discovered this video about 2 weeks ago.. after years and several coaches teaching me to chuck the hands or fire them hips it worked but so inconsistent this Alex as I’ve stated before is so simple, in 2 weeks I’ve never swung the club better and it’s the same every time, a few duffers due to timing but it’s such an amazing concept, love your videos Alex, so relatable 👍

Lovely video. When yr head dips so much, isn't that going to result with the club digging into the ground? Does this only apply to irons. I appreciate what u r saying many of us have watched Tiger squat for years.
@frankcanzanella6753 Жыл бұрын
Alex your video surprisingly helped me learn the meaning of the expression, “ using the ground “. The only way to use the ground is to feel for gravity. Deep knee bends and push-ups feel for gravity. Maybe my lower back won’t ache as much now. Arnold Palmer talked about the left shoulder pointing to the ball. The only way to keep the left arm straight is to bring the left shoulder down to the ball. I wanted to think more about my hip movement. But your downward movement fits between the Backswing and Downswing.

Great video Alex!! I love the idea of winding up rather than turning. The down shift following the backswing is beautifully illustrated. The term "back up" is a great idea as well. Your words are powerful and simple. A swing thought must be correctly phrased to create the Aha Moment. You do. This is your best video by far!!!

Doesn't "sitting" make a person hit behind the ball? Why or why not?
@TheArtofSimpleGolf Жыл бұрын
Because momentum is still going forward
@artbsi Жыл бұрын
Please explain to me how is it simple to make 3 different moves within 1 second of your swing. For those of us that need this type of lessons are not athletic enough to turn, squat, and turn again within one second and make a perfect impact at the ball. We have enough trouble just turning and returning the club to it's original position.
@TheArtofSimpleGolf Жыл бұрын
Perhaps yes, but the cues and feels are often much easier that most golfers think they need to do.

Hmm, but the hips do move. You can teach a different ‘feel’, but the hips should and do move.

It’s to simplify and remove the overthinking. Feel vs real as it were too.

@@TheArtofSimpleGolf thanks Alex, that makes sense. When I get fatigued or out of sorts my lower body freezes up and my swing becomes all arms. To get myself back rhythm during a round I have to about freeing up my hips. ‘Hips & wrists’ I say to myself. But that’s just me. Thanks for all the great videos!

Your word count is way over the top here. One of your previous videos on tee shots with driver (wind up) was so beneficial, helped so much. But that one was a bit more succinct. Pelvis, shifting down....aggghhhh!....too much.
