Hi Alex, This past Saturday I played golf and didn't have time to hit the range before we teed off. I put this tip into practice on the very first tee. I had my best day driving in a VERY LONG Time. Not so much distance but consistency and hitting fairways. I did see some more distance but I was squaring the clubface with a very slight fade. Cured my slice and push slice. I also choked down an inch and shortened my backswing. Once or twice I pulled a "Scotty Scheffler" by my left foot almost coming off the ground unintentionally and hitting a great drive.

Well done indeed! Love to hear that and shows that simplicity will rule the day if we allow it. Keep at it⛳️🏆👍💪🏌️♂️

Thanks Alex. Saw 2 of your videos and went to the driving range. To say it worked great would be an understatement. I nailed the irons and the driver, which I have had trouble with. Thanks Brian

I always liked what Seve said. You turn and put your weight into your right hand hip pocket. The weight is still within your footprint and the inside of the trail foot. As opposed to the sway where the weight moves outside your foot print to the outside of your foot. It's an image I like.

Hi from the south coast of England, Alex. Another great video, well explained. That's my evening sorted out, practising in the lounge, without the club. It's so simple! Please keep up the great content.

Adding vertical force also adding another timing element into the swing.

It should occur relatively naturally if we have a good foundation

Personally I start my backswing swing with the shifting of my belly button to my trail side and then at any point I wish to alternate I simply shift my belly button more aggressively and completely to my lead side. It works because our abdominal and oblique muscles groups are the center powerhouse of every great golf swing. Also just before I do any swing (to shake off my nerves) I do a subtle wiggle waggle rehearsal of my belly button; stop and then trust my swing. At age 75 I finally discovered the simplest; most powerful and accurate golf swing of my entire life. Cheers 😃⛳️👍🥂

That’s wonderful and sounds ideal! I have on KZbin another lesson that’s “core backswing” and another core through. One lesson is 3 simple steps to an effortless golf swing. I’m delighted you’ve found your own feels cues. The function may be similar to the tailbone move I discuss at times too… but everyone knows and feels where their belly button is.

Always like your tips Alex but find it hard to straighten trail leg during backswing and still have any 'push' left at end to aid move to front leg? You previously talked about 'falling' to lead side which I found very useful.
@chadthompson3078 Жыл бұрын
Is this for driver/tee shots only or all shots?
@TheArtofSimpleGolf Жыл бұрын
Predominantly noticeable results off the tee but irons are much better struck for many that does this. The same intent of reducing in swing movement applies and benefits

@@TheArtofSimpleGolf I meant after putting pressure on the quads, are you still releasing the trail knee, where it comes from a bent position to straight on the back swing?

When do you start shifting pressure to the lead side?

Win, you realize! The golf, "swing", is akin to a sling shot! 🦉 Left lat, stretches, as the right pinky pulls - at the top of the back swing. Bottom up.. loaded tension Pressure on right instep and big toe Tension on right hip as turned 30° The stretch in your left latissimus The stretching of the left arm Pressure in your left index finger Tension in you right pinky finger. Start of Downswing Right foot push off Hips slide and rotate open Hands let the tension -go!!!

Golf is not predictable, there are so many variables perfection is unattainable. A strike that is just a couple of degrees out means missed greens and fairways. Golf swing feel change almost daily… It’s not a simple game. But making it more simple is the eternal goal.
