3 Long Years of Fighting Cancer
I am very weak and tired now but wanted to do a video today as it's been three years today I went under the knife the first time due to this cancer. Since then I have had multiple surgeries, my lymphnodes removed and now I am on end of life care and constant chemo!
I am still trying to find a way though to survive :)

I Just want to say that I support and love you. Know that you have so many sincere, supportive people from all over the world that are praying for you. ♥️ We pray not just for a miracle but for you and your family to gain/maintain strength and peace through your journey. You’ve won- regardless. Cancer isn’t who you are, it just a part of your story. We are blessed that You shared your story with so many and with the kind of attitude we all can learn from as well. I’m here for every chapter and I know I speak for many. That out-tro will never cease to make me smile 💕

You said it wonderfully, although I watched his whole video today with my hand over my mouth cause I had to keep from crying In a coffee shop, but I just asked two strangers that struck up a conversation with my to put him on all the prayer list they could find. Even if a person isn't a believer of amything, to meditate for an easing up of his pain. It's always on my mind about Dan. If one wants to send a card of support should a person send it to the hospital? Anyone know? Thanks for your post btw...

Funny, that scared me- so I removed his name lol! I’ve always addressed him as Dan so I would have been very embarrassed 😱 Thomas is a guy with a similar accent ;in my humble American (Michigan) opinion that does those 24 hr challenges, not sure if that’s the confusion? Maybe.

Yeah I'm not a religious man at all. But I somehow have this belief that when I die I'll just become one with nature. Not go to heaven or anything but just become one with the mountains and the animals and the trees.. You know. May be stupid but if helps me coop with the thought of death :)

PhatomHighway-Kudos to you, for re-posting Dan's most spectacular "QUOTE OF THE DAY"!! He humbles me, every single day...and I can only begin to imagine what he's feeling...his followers often feel helpless, and want to do more...and then Dan comes out with yet another BRILLIANT expression! Think someone should try to collect all of Dan Thomas' "One liner inspirational and motivational comments:, and bind them in a book! I'd buy it, for sure! Today's pain address comment is right up there with Dan's now infamous "#DONTGIVEIN,DONTGIVEUP"!! Love this man!! Linda (momto3rs)

PhantomHighway I absolutely loved Dan's comment re: pain is subjective and he is not going to let himself be the subject. It's brilliant. For me who is in massive pain everyday, I say to myself, I am not defined by my diseases, my diseases aren't who I am. However, sometime the pain gets so bad some days that it takes over and you have to do whatever you can to break free from it's grip. Wear positivity like a shirt that you don't take off. So great you zoomed in on that ✌👍

So sad that you had to go Dan, you showed me that no matter how hard things get in life, you have to keep fighting & never give up. I struggle hard with social anxiety & depression & I sometimes think about giving up, but then I remember you & remember how hard you fought & It keeps me going. I will never forget you Dan, you have changed my life, & you will be in my heart forever. Thank you for being such a positive person, I wish you knew how much you have impacted my life, words can't even explain it. Thank you my friend, now rest peacefully until we meet in the after life.

You are truly amazing Dan. My Mum was diagnosed terminal at 42,it finally took her at 59. She fought, had chemo, did natural therapies, stabilised, went down, picked up ..it was a long bumpy road. Thankfully her will to live, spirit, sense of humour and positivity of love of family and life kept her with us much longer than the medical prognosis of months. I hope and pray this can be your story too. Sending love and positivity your way. 💜

Kerry Hughes-I've been saying the same thing about Dan Thomas, since I first located one of his earliest vlogs this past January. I don't thin people like him pass through this worldtoo often...and I know I haven't met anyone I could say the same about in my entire 50yrs on this planet.I think that's one thing, amongst so many other qualities, in what makes him so incredible special! He is a humble, gentle kind individual, yet a self admitted "assh---e" in his teenage years!Clearly, the man he has become will not soon be forgotten by this world he has so enormously impacted.... First symptoms were blood In urine, they called it a uti , fatigue, general flank pain, which was from the tumor.... loads of other symptoms, such as feeling unwell, like a flu. I was diagnosed with Rcc stage 3 growing rapidly, they said it would kill me. I declined all surgeries, and just went with iv, and oral chemo. I've since had many infections, many tumors that have grown, turning my cancer bilateral, and developing secondary cancers in the ovaries. I've since developed heart trouble, from chemo, all kinds of other weird and scary side effects, found out I had lupus(which makes me wonder if it all came from undiagnosed lupus as a child)... but moral of this story, is after declining several surgery options, and treatments, I'm still here, still kicking, and my doctors are still surprised that I am here living. Not only am Unloving, but I've turned corners that educated medical professionals told me would never happen. I'm living with cancer everyday, but I'm living!!@peeweetoms, you're living too!!!

I'm sure anything is possible, but I can not say for sure. I'm pretty sure virus can possibly cause cancer, but I know a lot of conditions mimic other conditions, which is why I think that, people either get misdiagnosed or diagnosed late.

It frightens me the amount of faith you put in doctor's. At the end of the day they are just mere mortals also. I have acute medical anxiety disorder and as accommodating as my GP is I sometimes think she fobs me off. I have quite serious intestinal issues since having my son 4 months ago but even though my GP examines me and prescribes medicine she still refuses to send me for investigative work. I ended up in A&E last Friday (somewhat unrelated issue), and mentioned it to the doctor in the acute unit and he suggested going straight back to my GP and demanding investigations. My point is it's so scary how much faith we invest in fellow flawed humans. Apologies for the waffling.

You are an encouragement! It gets me fighting mad when I hear there were doctors you trusted, doing things to you and not really knowing or understanding fully what they were doing. I had a professor tell me that when cancer is cut out, it can easily spread bc of the blood flow and actually moving cells passed the basement membrane. Not all cancers. He was a retired physician and said going into the medical field in this age is frightening. BUT, we have to research and ask questions before leaning all our faith into the medical community. AND NEVER apologize for getting second opinions or asking questions. Period.

I believe that Drs knew at the very beginning that they would never beat Dans cancer. They told him it was a very aggressive type.... they had to offer surgery, as they do with thousands of patients. They could hardly say to him that they will keep removing tumors, but ultimately he will never be cured. Drs see these cancers every day in the patients they operate on.... they must be seen to have some hope, especially if the patient believes they can beat it.

Every day I look to see if you have put a video up. I watched my father lose his battle to chronic copd 6 years ago and 2 years ago held my mum’s hand through her final hours. Ironically they got all of her cancer during surgery, but 6 weeks later she collapsed on the day she was being discharged. Sepsis took over. Be strong and do whatever you need to do. I am also sending support to your parents. That’s me a total sob fest now xxx

This may not seem like anything, but when my fiancé was dying, he was the most beautiful I had ever seen him - I know that sounds odd, but ask those closest to you, and it is beautiful, they might say, it is the true you, without all the rest of the worldly concerns attached. No room for regrets now.

As a retired RN. I must say yes your surgeries could have made it worse because it can for sure. But please don't give up though. I wish that you could come to a cancer center here called MD Anderson in Texas. They are one of the best that there is. We are praying for you. I have been on chemo for one of my auto-immune diseases. It is terrible. So I understand. Please take care.

Roman Family 5 I am not 100% certain, but I have heard him say numerous times that he considered chemo his last resort, and I believe it is because they were convinced his cancer type (which is very rare) wouldn’t be very responsive to chemo.

Tere Mertz and Roman Family 5-Tere Mertz statement is correct. Dan has shared, that he was told chemo would be a last resort, and "unlikely to help". STILL, while he recognizes that this treatment will NOT cure his terminal cancer, the hope is that it MAY "buy him some extra time". This is the path he as chosen, and as his devoted followers all agree...we need to recognize and support this decision. It is HIS LIFE ALONE. As far as I know,he receives his chemo on Mondays at the Royal Marsden, and he has now entered into "palliative care"...where he will be kept alive and as comfortable for as long as doctors are able. There are currently no expectations of a complete cure, only to prolong his life as long as possible and to keep him as comfortable(ideally free of pain) for ass long as possible. While he and his physicians have been in contact with medical practioners as well as obtaining the records of others who were diagnosed with the same rare form of cancer he has, he has chosen to remain near his loving family and caring friends...who are beyond all doubt his greatest supporters, and where he gets the love and support he flourishes on. There is NO WHERE else on earth could THIS be given, for as long as possible. Dan Thomas humbles me...every single day. Hope this helps. Linda (momto3rs)

I had been going to the doctors for 2 years with the same symptoms. It would still be going on now, if I hadn't gone to the doctors and told them what disease I had, and demand an xray and ct scan. My diagnosis was correct - and I put my doctors to shame. I am stage 3 / 4 and its incurable too. I have millions of benign cysts in my lungs that no longer or ever will exchange oxygen again. I have pain every minute of every day (& night) I have been ill since 2012 and I probably will not see 2019 You have my support bud - if you ever need to talk with someone that understands through experience, I will be here for you.

Eat the freshest organic foods you can find mate, you deserve it and it will help you. I'm sure people would pitch in on a gofundme just to help you eat better. It seems like bullshit, but it really helps get your immune system working again. Probiotics, dark leafy greens+, peppers, medium rare meats (not processed) and whatever you like that doesn't have sugar as much as possible. Sugar feeds cancer cells and disables the immune system, and even blocks absorption of vitamins when not in fruit form. Good luck bro, we love you.
