I am inundated with people who want to give me advice or state they are medical professionals but actually aren't it's nuts!
But anyways I want to let you all know I am OK with what was said to me, I am going to fight and hope my new team can help me fight this :)

I'm here after finding out that Dan died and he kept his word in this video. He never gave up, he kept fighting to the end and being positive. I understand the frustration of no one seeming to be in a hurry to figure out what is wrong. My colonoscopy was put off and put off for months by schedulers. When it was found it was already moved to my lung. I will always wonder if it hadn't been pushed off, would it have been caught before it metastisized? I cringe when I hear "Oh wow, you look good though!!" because like you said...I'm not. I'm sick. I'm very very sick. Sending you all of my love.

I followed this lovely man and his story 3 years ago. I was so touched by him and his beautifal family. Now im back again because my boyfriend and best freind of 8 years just died of lung cancer.You really dont have to look sick. My boyfreind died just 6 months after he was diagnosed. Dan, you passed away yesterday. Im sitting here watching your videos and thinking of you. You have done so much to highlight this disease and to support people. This video is so powerful. Because you speak about being told that you don't have cancer and about being forgotten about by the doctors. My friend was told the same thing when she knew that she had breast cancer. She was told that she was too young and not to worry and no tests were done. She passed away from breast cancer a year later. This attitude from the doctors has to stop because as you said here, its your life! It was Kathys life too and it was just too unimportant to too many doctors. Thank you for speaking out about this. You did incredible work and brought huge awareness. Rest in peace Dan. I am so sad that you have left this world. You made it a better place.

Mate totally agree that people don’t have to look sick when they have cancer.... my mum looked great until 2 weeks before she died and she went jaundice.... but up until then she looked a picture of health and she was terminally ill. Love your honest, open vlogs man. Awesome. Keep up the fight!

I have the same problem of people thinking I'm not in severe pain 24/7....I fix myself up and then I have to rest for an hour or longer before going out.....I have been called lazy by a family member :-( attention seeker, all sorts of things but no Pain Specialist would do surgery and implant a pain pump inside my body unless there is severe pain...I can see the pain in your eyes, I have been able to for a long time....don't pay any attention to those people, they have never been through what your going through...those doctors should be sued....As I always say, I don't want anyone to walk in my shoes, please walk beside me....Sending prayers and gentle hugs...

I was in a coma for 6 days last year and I got a second chance. To open itself up to the world with an illness for there is no standard treatment in spite of inconceivably pains, to attribute attention for this illness is the most noble-minded a person in such a situation can act! I can totally understand your anger towards doctors and how they can lack compassion and miss things. I'm 37 and have a chronic illness and finding the right doctor or team is so important! You need people who are on your side! Also...I understand the frustration surrounding the misconception that you look fine so you must feel fine. I once had a doctor dismiss me and I left her office in tears. A year or so later I had to have a lymph node dissection and was in the hospital for a week. They assigned me a doctor and guess who it was?! The doctor who had dismissed me. I don't usually stand up for myself (which i should!) but I did that day. I told them to get me a new doctor asap. If you're relatively young and don't look sick (whatever sick looks like??) then people often assume you're fine. It's so frustrating! My advice is to let yourself cry when you need to, let yourself be angry, let yourself be scared and vulnerable, and don't feel guilty for one second of it! Then, pick yourself back up and carry on as best you can. You seem to be doing an amazing job at this so far and I admire your strength! I'll be here rooting for you! :)

A bit of info from a case study there for people :) "Carcinosarcomas are rare but aggressive neoplasms commonly described in organs such as the breast, urinary bladder, uterus, liver, and lungs. Histopathologically, they are characterized by the presence of malignant epithelial and mesenchymal components. The exact histogenesis of carcinosarcomas remains unknown and is debated in the literature. Primary carcinosarcomas of the skin are uncommon. To our knowledge, 20 cases of primary cutaneous carcinosarcoma have been described in the world literature. Most of these tumors were seen on the head and neck region of older individuals, both male and female. Microscopically, the more common carcinoma component is a squamous cell carcinoma followed by basal cell carcinoma, whereas the most common sarcoma component is an osteosarcoma. We report an example of this rare entity and speculate on its histogenesis in the skin." I have the rarest type in the skin and every other thing it can attack on the way, my muscles, lympnodes, skin, soft tissue and the rest!

My husband was also misdiagnosed when we went through his cancer journey. The best hospital in the U.S for cancer is Sloan Kettering in N.Y. The next in line is M.D. Anderson in Houston. It wouldn't hurt to call for a consult and also to explore their clinical trials.

I am disgusted the way your old team and doctors treated you .. I can tell that you're in pain and I can tell you are not well... I don't think of people with bald heads are the only ones that have Cancer because I have seen my uncles go through it all... One of my uncles had treatment and some of his beard was falling off so he shaved it all off... Thank God he is still here with us today :)

I've been looking for some informations and I found a lot of people with cancer stage 4 still living and doing well.I was surprised,sure I knew there are people who had cancer and live but I haven't got idea how many of them!Now I'm even more sure that you can beat it.And most of them told that the attitude is very important,and you've got the best attitude you can have in this situation.So I cross my fingers for you!(every day -it's gonna make my life difficult but well... >:D)

Being in medicine, I treat many patients with Lyme disease. It is sad because they are very sick but their outsides don't look sick. It keeps people from sympathizing sometimes and their families don't treat their illness as serious. I am sure it is the same thing you are describing.

That is so true.... I looked like a hot mess during chemo, but after my surgery and during radiation I would get the comment, "Well, you LOOK good." As if that was the whole battle -- to look good. LOL Hang in there, my friend. Hoping you have some good days soon.

I have followed Geri from Growing older with style and her dr passed off a lump as a lipoma and she ended up with a large Sarcoma too ! U put faith in Drs and they can be wrong and their wrong is fatal to patients at times ! I guess u have to know ur body and pursue and pursue ! How horrible Dan. You knew something was wrong and instead of taking the most thorough examination and ruling out things, they told you to not worry. It’s got to make you so angry. I can’t believe a medical team would do that but I guess you have to imagine how many people they see and possibly a vast majority may not have cancer and you were lumped in with them. This is your life and I am a bit disgusted you have to not only fight for your life, but also fight with the treatment team to fight for you too. I’m here. Grateful for what you share and reading about your cancer. It really does say everywhere I’ve read this is hard to treat and it usually is the lung or kidney. Your type has no information. I hope this team will put you through trials and fast. If there’s anything to grasp onto it’s hope. There are cases of people living years after diagnosis and I believe they fight and have a strong will to live. You have that more than anyone!!

Problem is since day one in July 2015 I was diagnosed with an incurable cancer! They should have tested me at every opportunity!

Emily Everett On the one hand it is called 'the practice of medicine', but on the other hand, that "practice" can be done very badly. I almost died twice due to medical incompetance. Once by a doctor, I had peritonitis and would have died in 24 -36 hours, he yelled at me "every time there's a little pain, you patients..blah,blah', and trust me, I am a tough cookie for pain, I hate the E.R., and another time in the hospital where they didn't chart a heart reaction to a med, and tried to give the same med 4 or 6 hours later. Because I asked what are you giving me, and didn't you guys chart what happened??!! I am alive today. As a result of that EVERY single time that I am in hospital, when they come with a med, it could be x amount of times a day, I make them and myself look at the pill (s). ( Learn about meds, use an app on your phone to look up shit. One of my ex's is a doc, but I don't bow down to their b.s. if I smell some..age has made me a grizzly bear when needed I suppose. My primary doc now? Wonderful, pulls no punches with me, and ditto from me to him.

I've no idea how some of these 'professionals' become 'professional', I mean someone has to assess and pass them for them to become doctors. And if at whatever point in their lives they lose their spark and passion then I think they should really think about changing their careers to something that doesn't involve holding another humans life in their hands! I hate the thought of anyone going to seek medical help and being met by someone who is just..... 😒....

I've been telling my Dr for months about my weight loss, nausea, stomach pains, weakness and feeling tired. Its very difficult getting professionals to listen. My lymph nodes are yelling at me 24/7. I had a lump removed from my breast. Spots in my stomach and colon lazered and polyps removed. I'm freezing all the time and now have to wait for my next round of bloodwork due to medication change. It takes a couple weeks to see if there is a difference.

You’re right Dan there is no sugarcoating the level of your illness. You were also right when you say that you don’t need to look sick to have cancer that is so very true. I think most of us do understand the severity of your disease but I think what people are doing is trying to keep you in a positive frame of mind but with cancer we’re going to have all kinds of emotions that of course you’re going to have bad days and good days and many in between. I hope you can get your pain under control because that would be the worst thing to have to live with constantly! Xxx
