I could not agree more. Though my first session with a gender therapist will be next week. So for with gender therapy I have yet to prove this. But for my trauma, I know for a fact this is true. I was horribly abused, traumatized and neglected as a small child. In my twenties I tried to get professional help. I knew I was broken but could not define why. I spent the next 30 years on and off seeing MHPs. Not one of them helped me. Not one properly diagnosed me. While taking an English lit class I was exposed to a book called Trauma and Recovery by Judith Herman. It clued me in to what's wrong. It started my journey on healing. I went and found a trauma therapist. I would not accept anything less. The progress I've made in healing traumas and finding myself has been nothing short of astounding. It has brought me here. My life has changed dramatically. Finding the right therapist for your life condition is paramount. I'm hoping working with my gender therapist will be just as life affirming. And hopefully I will get to spend the rest of my years at least with some happiness instead of the hell given to me by my family and society.

Finding a genuine gender specialist is way more difficult than it should be. Here in the UK the entire transistion process is a nightmare and long overdue some major changes. Sady we still have to work with the ones available, and of all the stages in transistion this was by far the worst experience for me, but you need that letter to complete your journey and it is high time it was made less stressful. I hope anyone watching this video can find somone that they can work with. There are only a very limited number that are as good as Dr Z

Very good information video. It is imperative that the person who you are working with is knowledgeable. A specialist will be able to explain to the client what is going on when or if the client hits a bumb in the road. The problem is that nowadays, due to the world we live in there are a lot of so called gender specialists who are just exploiting a vulnerable group in society. A general practitioner would really struggle to give clarity for a client in complex situations. Admittedly I do work on a weekly basis with a non gender specific therapist, however, i am autistic with childhood trauma and my therapist is a specialist in that field, although to be honest she has always been able to answer the questions that I have for her and she always provides me with any specific paperwork if required. I do, however, see a specific gender specialist on a 3 monthly basis as well. I also have a psychiatrist who i meet with on a quarterly basis. Good videos. Keep posting the information 💙💙

In your expert opinion, I have been trying to transition, I've been doing facial hair removal. I'm over 5 thousand dollars in and so far it's been on my upper lip. This will be my 9th time going over my upper lip. Am I being taken for a ride??

What are you doing to the upper lip? Find Lee Francis channel "Why you look "trans" mtf surgeries to avoid" video. If this is for upper lip hair removal it sounds expensive. If it is for lip filler Lee does not recommend it.

@user-ws3jt5is7e this is valuable information. There are hair removal clinics that specialize in trans clients. There's one in Portland (who is also trans) and there's another in l..A. who is also a nurse and uses local anesthetic. From what I know it takes 60 to 100 hours for the face. I will do electrolysis for face/critical and laser for less critical areas.
