A thousand thank yous! I wish I could like this more than once to bump the algorithm. I'm running a beefy PC, 1.4gbps internet, and was having such crazy packet burst every game that it would dive into Extrapolation and lock me up. I died so many times, failed Act missions, lost so many high rarity items, even lost guns to extract and unlock. After pulling my hair out for 2 months, I finally found this video that solved 95% of the issue. I still see the occasional packet burst, but nothing that freezes up the screen or really even effects the game. I went from the game being nearly unplayable to it running exactly how I expect it to with my PC and ISP just by adding the ports. Thank you!!!

I used to have packet burst literally every freaking minute. Reinstall, change graphic settings, virtual memory all etc didn’t work for me all. But it seems method one and three worked, I just played for half an hour so far, no more packet burst! ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

This worked for me for a month or so without any issues. No more packet burst. No more rubberbanding. No more crashes or server disconnects. Roxk solid performance. However, since Season 2 dropped, I've been seeing the old issues come back hard. Did the network port number a change or something as the Devs attempted to fix their server side issues??

Bought and installed (PC) the game and it ran very fast and smooth for about 5 days, then packet burst set in....till today. Sucks big time. All packet loss tests i''ve done had been 0,00 or 0,01% packet loss....basically nothing. Several speed tests were also positive. My connection isn't the problem.

this didnt fix my issue in-game, and gave me more issues out of game when browsing the internet on my pc. for some reason, everything buffers now / doesn't load for a while. i have 1k/1k fiber internet and never had this issue before. did all 3 steps. did the first step on the first day which didn't fix anything, but didn't cause these buffering issues. then on the second day i did both steps two and 3, and that's when the issues began. any way to reverse these or tips on what to do?

This didn't help me, I am still experiencing packet burst after doing these steps. I tested my internet and I am consistently getting 800mb down and 60mb up, so it's definitely not my internet. If this is a "computer issue" my pc super exceeds the requirements of this game. I have a Ryzen 9 7900x CPU, An Nvidia RTX 4080 which has 16gb VRAM, I have all AM5 sockets on my motherboard with 64gb of RAM and everything is running off an SSD, even with a $4000 computer this AAA game won't run at 240fps offline even though every other game I play has zero issues running 4k at 240fps. I genuinely don't get why a multimillion dollar company can't update their servers to have AAA quality, Quake Remastered has significantly better only and it's only $10. They need to fix the servers because it is not fun rubberbanding in 9 of the 10 matches I play and forget about zombies you lag, you die and lose all items and your insured weapons. It's BS, and port-forwarding will only get you so far, netcode has to fixed at the source.

you could check if you have other family controllers. Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller driver is the LAN hardware on the motherboard, it's important to keep the Realtek GBE family controller driver updated to stay connected with your ethernet cable.

If you are having packet loss and have done everything in this video and still doesn’t work, try this. (Only for pc) open up your Norton settings and turn off (optimize gaming) setting. This completely eliminated my packet loss and I can run mw3 at the highest quality settings provided! Lmk if this worked for you!

I don’t want to say every time but yes in the top left corner in orange it would say packet burst. But occasionally at the very beginning of the game when the clock ticks down to 1 second it’s says packet burst for a split second and then goes away and doesn’t show me that again until the start of the next game.

Didn't want to do it before because I'd have to run the ethernet cord around the house with a 50 ft. cable but I had to do it. I guess it's really just the servers having terrible connectivity. Although, I get less download speeds while hard-connected for some reason.

Didn't work for me either I have the game on SSD and I've just reinstalled the game and done everything in this video as well as some other things Ive seen people suggest and nothing has helped it is so random rarely it will run fine enough to where it's not impossible to play but most times it is so laggy and stuttery that it's just pointless trying to play. COD is the only game that I've ever had problems with and to such an extent as well they really need to quit making games they are an outdated company and can barely make a playable game yet alone one that is even worth playing in the 1st place. They have gone from a well known and highly praised company to one that brings hate and disgust upon the gaming community.
