Some glossy cardstocks are clay coated and stamp quite clearly, as will some papers (usually card weight) for inkjet printers. Coloring in those crisp images, however, generally isn't successful. They can be handy for sentiments and single-color images. Really shiny slick "papers" like Yupo or DuraLar are actually plastic, non-porous, and won't work with water-based inks. Coloring those might pose a challenge as well. Ranger's watercolor paper is hot-pressed (relatively smooth) on one side and cold-pressed (some texture) on the other, making it useful for card makers. Some would argue that it's not really even watercolor paper (purists tend to prefer 100% cotton), but it works pretty well for ink blending and wet media, and it has sufficient tooth to use colored pencils, which don't work well on really smooth cardstocks. The challenge these days seems to be finding a substrate that works well for background techniques (ink blending, sprays, etc.) as well as stamping and coloring.
