Fun bit here that everyone will discover eventually or figure out is using malz W minions as a meat shield. Due to your immobility using your minions when up against a hook champ is abit more safe than using your Q to silence them if it's a pyke hook you are staring at. Malz wave clear is so good you can E and W in the mid game and simply go else where as it can basically clear the wave itself.

Q has a .25 cast time, and a .4 delay before damage, so if you count to 3 and then cast it and you'll reset it at the ~3.65 second mark(provided it hits. If you ult, hit q right as its about to end you'll be resetting it pretty close too) Also, suppression prevents summoner spells, so if a enemy jungler is angling for a steal(or your team is hoping to steal yourself) you can prevent it even if your team lacks a smite at that particular objective(on cooldown, across map, dead, ect). Smite also doesnt interrupt the ult, so if you use unsealed spellbook... have fun with that. It can also be buffered for flash(or the above jungler's mobility attempt to get into the pit).

All super helpful! And yes the suppression effect not allowing junglers to smite is incredibly good to know compared to most other CC effects where they can still smite!

Little nitpick on the masteries. Dont take scorch, malz like the vid said isnt strong at all early when scorch is for. Very rarely do you ever find an opportunity to kill due to trades. Taking comet is slightly better than aery in most situations since it does more damage mid game and is aoe. Comet hits are basically guaranteed after rylais.

That’s an interesting take! All the Malz one tricks always talk about how good Aery is and I see Aery and scorch is taken in 94.5% of games and over 99% of games master tier and above - Comet before ryalias does nothing I think is the problem so you’re basically playing without a keystone until then unless your opponent doesn’t have a mouse - and even if you rush Rylias then you’ve lost all your damage - fair play of comet and gathering storm or whatever you takes works for you though! I do always say take what you’re comfortable with over the meta - but I would say comet is probably never the choice, could easily see an argument against scorch but making the landing phase easier to get to mid game I would argue is probably better than the value gathering storm would give

@@3MinuteLeagueofLegends the thing is scorch doesnt help you get to mid game, things like minion demat, cookies, boneplating, etc help you get to mid game. Scorch users like to poke you out of lane, which malz doesnt have the mana for until after lc and even then he isnt actively looking for that unless he is ahead/doing 4min lc. Gs outvalues scorch once you pass 20 min so if you dont plan on ffing at 15 then you probably take gs. Comet does a bit more dmg than 2 hits of aery, and later in the game hits just as often. Early game aery is only hitting about once per e since you generally move back after using abilities, and comet hits more times than you would expect since the enemy is generally retaliating to you using your abilities by using their own, which makes them stick in place for just long enough that it hits. But the difference between aery and comet is prty small and probably won't impact your game that much. The very very tiny difference could probably be seen once every 10 games. off topic: popularity isn't a very good indicator of whether something is optimal or not. It can instead be a indicator of what can work for the avg player. Its also 92.4% of games above master tier and above that take aery and scorch. I forgot to put this somewhere: aery has its place with malz against certain matchups like ones that you can auto in, which mostly encompasses melees

@@nicolasburton323 I disagree about comet being better, you get multiple aery procs off per e and you can proc it with aa's - thats before comet has missed. More of a debate for gs/scorch but also consider your ability to survive lane and scale to your strength is dependant on how efficiently you can trade in lane, so there's definite value there.

Who are these people saying that, @3MinuteLeagueofLegends ? Comet is now better than Aery (and has been for a long time) unless you are against a melee laner that you can constantly smack with autos. (And even then....) Scorch is *alright*, but GS really quickly outperforms it when it comes online. Scorch should only be taken if you are looking to kill a squishy laner early... but Malz can not really do that.

You’re too kind, honestly not that long - a lot of what I do is read many guides of them, go over their skills and watch videos and then I’ll play a few games on them on my gold/silver accounts where you can get away with not being practiced as them - it’s mainly just for the background which talking - but my mains on my main account when I pick up a new one it’s usually about 20 or so games depending on the champion before I feel comfortable with all their match ups!

Spell shields from other sources take precedence over Malz's passive, so Banshee's Veil would block Morde ult.

Small thing you missed, often it's better to skill E Q E W levels 1 through 4. The extra point in E makes his early trades much better and you don't often want to hard shove at level 3.

Yeah definitely not a bad option - although the W running after the Ed target is a lot more damage if your opponent can’t stop it!

You start Q to poke or E to farm. You take W third level (sometimes second) to take advantage of Malz E's causing his W to do extra damage to minions... which can be very strong against certain champions that have to respect that push you do. (Plus the W can provide extra utility via blocking skillshots or providing vision when your jungler does a small skirmish.) Never take W second if you took Q first, by the way. As an aside: Jungle Malz goes Q > W > Q > E if you wanna say "fuck you, autofill". 🙂

the biggest problem is everyone have much stronger wave clear and have much much more dmg .... he need way more dmg the dot dmg is to weake and the Voidlings are a joke in a fight.... one shot...

He has multiple laning problems (low AA range; needs an AS shard; has a low MS)... and a lot of his damage disappeared when they removed mythic Liandry's. He is in a state where if he was strong, he would be way too overbearing. (And as a result of that, a lot of the item and system changes that happen towards his build end up really affecting him.)

I know this is weird, but this is how i got to M7 in like 3 days with Malz eithout even trying. Start tear. Yes, tear, on a champion that regenerates mana. And instead of cosmic insight, you take FUTURES MARKET. You never, ever leave lane before 1300 for LC, which lowers to just above ~1100 thanks to Futures market. TP to lane with an (almost) guranteed lane advantage thanks to the enormous mana pool that lets you spam Q (way too costly to use before LC imo). About a minite or so before TP is up again, you will likely have mythic before ANYONE in the game. If nobody feeds, you will almost certainly beat everyone to mythic BECAUSE... ...YOU SELL TEAR! Tear sell + Futures market gives you nearly 450 gold, basically a kill plus a free shutdown. I go full burn, so at no point do i consider taking seraphs. Tear is only used for extra early sustain, and the gold boost when you sell it. I cannot count rhe number of times ive come into lane with Liandrys just to face an opponent with T2 boots and LC. Thats basically a guaranteed loss against Malz, since you can now simply EW the wave and clear it while staying 100% safe. No boots necessary! Its high risk because you lack early health and damage, but the item spike comes at such a surprisingly early stage. I find often you will have champions try to all in you, after you've been weak all game, just to find out thst you already have Mythic and they lose EVERYTIME to an EWQR combo. Like you can feek their shock when a Kat player dashes to you and loses half her health to minions. High risk, high reward. ALL fun 😎
